Re: Winter wedding brides
No, i dont think its cheesey. Lots of people do christmas themed weddings! It seems like everyone in Nov & dec have red bm dresses, and red flowers, rd roses, and give out some kind of xmas favor, like an ornament!
i went to a wedding in dec 05, i was in the Bp, and she basically did a christmas theme, and her favors were these thomas kinkade ornaments, but she ordered ribbon with her and her dh's name on it w/ the date . . .

Re: Winter wedding brides
We are hitting the stores the day after Christmas to find things for the wedding. I am doing a very traditional Christmas themed wedding...I want my BMs in a wine/cranberry color or a hunter/emerald green color (haven't picked out the dress yet) and we are doing ornaments as our favors, but just getting nice ornaments and getting a personlized ribbon on them. I am meeting with my florist tomorrow night about flowers so I can let you know about that. I love that I am getting married around the holiday since I'm OBSESSED with Christmas and the entire holiday season. Good luck to ya!!

Re: Winter wedding brides
I dont know if this will help but I viewed some pics on this site with a winter theme and they did a pretty powder blue color and white theme.
I believe that they had crystal snowflakes on ribbons tied to napkins, and white chair covers and blue tiebacks with pine cones dipped in white.
Absolutely beautiful.

I'm having mine the saturday after thanksgiving in 2008. So it will be the Christmas season. We are having a Christmas Themed Wedding. We have a lot of the same ideas as the one above! Cant wait to go to Michaels Dec 26th to get stuff for the wedding!

Re: Winter wedding brides
I got married the Saturday after Thanksgiving and we had a Christmas themed wedding. Here is what we did:
My dress was white with red flowers in my bouquet, and my girls were in red dresses with white flowers and red berries in their bouquet. My parents were completely decorated for Christmas at their house so that I could have the beautiful decorations in the background of my pictures. I was able to get some great shots at my house next to the Christmas tree and the fireplace with the decorations on it. It was so nice, even the photographer thought that was great. Also our CP's were high CP's with red and white flowers and 'Christmas greens' (that's what my florist called it) and 'ice' crystals on the table (that looked awesome). The stand had about 8 hooks on them so we actually put ornament favors on the hooks for people to take. DH & I did something at our tables that I loved. Over the years we took a picture with EVERY person or couple at our wedding, so on the day of the wedding we had these really pretty Lenox frames (we got them at the outlet store on sale) that we put the pictures in. So everyone got a Lenox frame with a picture of us and them in it. For example at Table 1 their were 5 couples (10 people), so we had 5 picture frames up around the table with a picture of us and each couple. This was something I knew I wanted to do years ago, so trust me when I say it was good that we were together for 7 years because that was how we were able to collect pictures together with every single person at the wedding. Not one person was left out. Some pictures were funny and some were nice, but everyone thought it was such an amazing touch and so personal to have a picture of DH & I with every single person at the wedding. Even though it took forever to get this together and go through pictures, I was so glad that we did it when saw everyone’s reaction. People were walking around to the different tables to look at some of the other pictures (so in a way it was good because it got people up and to mingle with the other guests <-- not really like my family needs it). We also had a table top Christmas tree on a table and put the other favors under the tree (kind of like gifts under the Christmas tree). The other favor was a Christmas dessert platter. Besides the things that we did in our reception room, the catering hall looked gorgeous with their Christmas decorations. I was debating between a fall theme or a Christmas theme, and I checked with the catering hall who said to me that they were going to be decorated for the holiday's, so that is what helped me make my decision.
Hope this helps a little bit.

Re: Winter wedding brides
We're doing a snowflake theme too. I guess the feeling I'm going for is sparkly, wintery, yet warm. Our overall colors are white/ivory, brown and silver. Here are our invites: And here our our favors - coasters: Our cps will be a combination of these 2:
We're also incorporating snowflakes in other ways, like our ice sculpture will be a snowflake, and our cake will be chocolate (yum!) with white snowflakes on it.
ETA: The girls are wearing chocolate brown dresses, and the guys will have matching brown vests/ties.

Yeah i prefer winter weddings over x-mas weddings. I have this one pic at home that i would have LOVED to do but it wont go with a may wedding. When i get home tonight, I'll post the pic for you. You can see if you find pics from melissa rivers wedding, she did a winter wedding and the ceremony was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!! for the reception she used alot of dark colors like dark green, blue and red glasses and stuff. The ceremony though i loved.
Also, you dont have to do the typical red dresses. You can pick like an ice blue. Maybe do silver and blue for wedding colors or blue white and silver.

Thank you so much! It is funny - I just ordered a sample of that invitation and my fiance loves the coasters! I am also thinking of maybe doing a mug with hot chocolate but he is not sold on that one!
