wireless internet at a hospital? UPDTE

UPDATE 2/27

i was able to connect to one in the area (us airways) but for some reason it wont work, internet exp doesnt bring up anything. which is wierd because usually if its a connection that wont let you share then it wont even connect.

QUESTION FOR THOSE WITH LAPTOPS/WIRELESS - do you have trouble connecting at places. I find that i can connect at places other than home and FHs i wonder if it is my laptop

will be going to the hospital in a few hours for my grandmas surgery and was wondering if you think ill be able to get internet service. figured i might need something to pass the time

im assuming no - but thought i would ask since im up anyway

I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. I'm not sure about regular hospitals, but I know that Sloan-Kettering has wireless internet service. They have laptops set up in pediatrics for the kids to use. I would think that most hospitals have wireless service since that's how medical records are now transferred from doc to doc.

i work at a hopspital on Long Island NY. I have seen patients with there lab tops, but not sure if they have wireless internet. I would bring it and see if it works.

I hope everything goes nice and smooth with your G'ma today! Hospitals should have some sort of WiFi setup, I would ask the front desk :)

LIJ and all Northshore hospitals do have wireless throughout the buildings.

Depends, at Stony Brook I had full reception and people were using computers all over

You should. I know a friend of mine had internet service and was her the computer when in the hospital. I will keep your grandmother in my prayers. Keep us updated.
