Wish Me Luck UPDATED!

Today we're heaing over to the FILs to discuss wedding things...I'll finally show FMIL my dress, all my DIY, and all thta. I just hope she doesn't look at me like I'm crazy b/c her daughter didn't do all this when she got married 6 years ago. LOL. I hope she just says great job...and leaves it at that. OH...and I also hope she doesn't bring up money...I feel sooo uncomforatble talking finances with them> LOL> Okies... just wish me luck that all goes smoothly...I'm soo nervous!

UPDATE:

Yeppers..I missed the 7 millionith post...but it was all for a good cause.

FH was getting me nervous for weeks to fill his Mom in on all the wedding stuff I got done for so long. He kept saying that she would say that I was doing too much and she would think we were spending too much money. LOL.

Sure enough, he was DEAD WRONG. She was super excited to see everything. Even stopped cooking and made FH finish so she could see all my pictures. She looves everything. She said my dress was a bit much money-wise...but it's all good. I said it's the only ONE I looved. So she understood. But, I showed her everything, and she was sooo pleased. I mean, I showed her EVERYTHING. Took almost 2 hours just to go over everything. FFIL was laughing at me b/c I have soo many details.HA. Oh wellz.

Sooo..that was a HUGE releif! Aahhh! Everything is well...AND we're going to go to another showcase with them soon. So that should be fun and give us more of a bonding time. YAAY! I don't feel so uncomfortable no more. WOO HOO!

OMG! Thats EXACTLY what goes on with FMIL! everytime I say something she thinks I am totally insane! Everything we do is wrong because it's either too soon or we are doing too much or spending too much money. I think it might be because his family didn't do really anything extra. I don't know though. It's just funny to hear someone else say the same stuff.

Ha ha! Best of Luck.... really from the bottom of my heart.. because I KNOW what it's like! So I hope it turns out great!

Yeah...FHs fam is the same way... they don't go above and beyond for anything...yet I do for EVERYTHING! haha. I changed that family... I mean.>birthdays they used to just call and say happy birthday, and when they saw the bday person they would give cash. BUT NOW...they invite us all over and have dinner, cake and open gifts..the way a bday SHOULD be ... NO MATTER WHAT your age!! LOL...
Let's just hope I can do the same with weddings! HAHAHAHAHA

To an extent...
I mean, I always wanted to go over everything with her, but she never seemed interrested...until just recently. So finally I am getting it over with. She's a very simply irish woman with simple tastes... and a stirict mind thinking...I'm sure it'll be fine...as long as she doesnt' ask about money! HAHA

WOW... that's crazy! ha ha. his family does bday dinners. But they thought we were looking at halls too early.. we were looking in Januray of 08 for November of 09. Then I told her I was going to make my aile runner.. and she was like... 'uh ok'.. then she said 'I think you are doing too much'... 'You are going to stress yourself out, you don't need all that... is it going to cost more? it's just too much..blah blah blah'. Ha ha ha! She really thinks we are crazy! Moreso me! She just wanted us to book Crest Hollow because his oldest sister got married there in the 80's (ha ha ha 80s bride!) and then his brother got his girl preggo... so they did a shot gun wedding (ha ha ha) and threw it together and did it there too. His other sister got married upstate and outdoors... but from the weddings she has experienced they were either rush rush rush or just totally different from ours. I think to myself... maybe when she sees the stuff she will appreciate it more... so perhaps that will happen to you today. She will actually see it and not visualize it and then she will have to just admire the work you have done! I saw parts of your aisle runner and it looked great! And I saw some other things you were working on and those looked terrific too! So I think she will be very happy with her FDIL!

At least that's what I'm hoping for. I know she's going to say I'm doing too much, but I'm really not. I need an aisle runner b/c then the FGs can't throw the patels down...so i bought $10 in paint big deal.. LOL. I have a reasoning to everything I'm doing...I just hope she likes it... that's all I ask. LOL> I know it took MY mom about 6 months to catch on to everything I'm doing.. she says she appreciates it, but I'm still going to extreems..I'm like, you've GOT to be kidding me! LOL
