Wish me luck...UPDATED

I just made a dinner date for thursday to have a heart to heart with the last girl I'm going to ask to be in the BP. I posted a while back about my dilemma with her, how she's been my friend since the third grade, but is very negative, and every time I mention anything wedding related she has a snarky comment about it. I'm going to just point blank ask her why she has such a bug up her butt, and tell her that I would like to have her as a BM, but if she's genuinely not happy for me, as her words indicate, then I can't have her.

I really don't know if she doesn't realize how what she says comes out, or she does and just doesn't care. Either way, I intend to get to the bottom of it. It's holding up the dress ordering process, plus it's draining to deal with. I just hope it doesn't come to blows.

Good luck! Confronting friends is never easy, but I am sure you will be relieved when its over.

Good luck - don't let anything she may say affect you all that much. Unfortunately, sometimes your happiness brings out the worst in the people around you. People s*&^ sometimes!

well good luck though it seems you deserve to be surrounded by people who are psyched for you so I hope she either comes around or just bows out gracefully b/c if she's trouble now she might not get better!!!

i had the same thing with a friend (ex friend) a few months ago. its really tough to be so honest and really say how you feel. GOOD LUCK!

Just be nice when you talk to her. She's probably jealous, so don't make her feel any worse...like asking her why she has a bug up her butt.

I have a friend who seems similar to your friend. She always has something negative to say about everyone's wedding, bf, FI, husband, etc. So after hearing her complain about other weddings, I told her if she didn't want to be my BM I would totally understand. I just didn't want her bad mouthing me behind my back. Anyway, she has apologized and is in my wedding...so we'll see...
