Wishbowl

Good morning everyone,

To everyone who's using a wishbowl at their reception...how are you asking guests to drop a wish in? Are you setting up a sign? Having someone just spread the word? Making an announcement?

I'd like to put a short poem in a frame set up by the bowl. Just looking for some ideas on what to write!

I am putting a small printed instruction poem (from weddingchannel.com) on the bowl and then the guests will drop their wish notes inside the bowl. I am also making sure my wedding coordinator asks my guests to make sure they write their notes.

Where did you guys purchase the actual bowl?? I'm looking for something for my mom's party...as long as it's reasonable!!

My cousin bought 2 large glass vases and 2 wrought iron candle stands on which to place them from Pier One. It looks beautiful. I think the vases were like $20-30 and same for the candle stands.

We had our's on the same table as the placecards w/ a sign -- but we didn't get that many people. If want a big response, you can ask/remind people to drop a note in when you visit each table.

Marriage is more than rings and tossed rice,
Grab a pen and some paper
and write your wish or advice!

Bride and Groom are now newlyweds
With love for each other filling their heads.
Please write them a note, a wish, or a greeting.
On the plane to Maui, they'll make for good reading.
Or if you'd prefer, some advice would be nice
On how to stay married and keep up the spice!

You can fill in your own HM location instead of Maui.
