Wishing Well PLEASE HELP !!!

I'm sending out my shower invites tomorrow (I'm a full time grad student, so no, it's not a surprise, and I'm actually the one sending out the invites), and I need to know how to inform guests that there will be a wishing well at the shower.

Anyone know the right way to do this??? Please respond ASAP because I really really want to send the invites out tomorrow--Tuesday at the very latest!

do the guests need to know there's gonna be a wishing well ahead of time? is it related to the bridal shower?

Re: Wishing Well PLEASE HELP !!!

just simply write wishing well at the bottom of the invite, near the RSVP date or where you wrote your registry info

Yes, apparently they do. I just found this out earlier this afternoon, and I'm so bummed out because now I have to make these stupid little additional cards to throw into the invite that say 'Wishing Well'.

My question is, how do I make it clear that wishing well knick knack DOES NOT equal shower gift??

i've never been to a shower with a wishing well. it's totally not necessary/required... if it is going to add work/stress for you to change the invites or make up a card, then don't do it.

I don't have a choice. FMIL is already getting one, so now, I have to inform people.

My biggest concern is that some jerk off is gonna come with a freakin' ladle thinking that that is an acceptable gift!!!

Is there a nice, polite way to inform people that this is in ADDITION to the main gift?

It doesn't go on a separate card, like the previous poster said, 'Wishing Well' just goes by itself anywhere on the bottom of your invite. You can skip it, but you'll get less gifts! No one would think that is the ONLY gift.

No, but no one would do that. People know what a wishing well is, and if they don't, they will ask when they RSVP.

Spices, gadgets and supplies galore,
There’s never enough – we always need more!
Please bring one special item for our favorite bride-to-be
Wrap it in tissue, remember no names please, we won’t tell
It’s just a sweet little surprise for her Wishing Well!

this is what we used for my friends shower, her family was russian and had no clue about wishing wells

Too late. My invites are printed, in envelopes, and scheduled to be sent out tomorrow. So now I have to put it on separate cards. We're making them the same size as the ones provided to us by Bloomingdales for our registry. It's just annoying that we have to do this now...

Bridal Shower is being held
For a very special Bride
So please use this handy bag
To tuck an extra gift inside.

It can be a dishcloth for the kitchen,
Cleanser for the sink,
Perhaps soap for the dishes,
Whatever you may think.

They will need items for the bath,
Perhaps some light bulbs too,
Combs, Kleenex, soap
The choice is up to you.

this one is more specific...it says 'extra' gift

I would think that people would know better, I have never been to a shower where a wishing well item was brought as the actual gift... I did read that some rec'd a wishingnwell item of cookie sheets as a wedding gift Really?

If your fmil got your wishing well, she & her guest list knows how this works. You should talk to your mom about her guest list, I would assume they would also know how a wishing well works.

Re: Wishing Well PLEASE HELP !!!

Thank you! I appreciate it, but unfortunately, I don't think the poem will work...we need to keep it simple. Short, sweet, and to the point.

Do you think there's any chance that people will think the wishing well means they don't have to give a real gift??? This is honestly one of my fears.

we have SO many items on our Bloomingdales registry that we're DYING for, so i'd be furious if someone showed up with dishwashing liquid! HAAHAHA

I had no clue what wishing well meant either and I'm Spanish. When I read ur initial post, I thought u meant wishing well to somebody that's leaving or sick u might need to specify what it is
