Anyway, I ordered the yarmulkes for our ceremony - another thing off the list. It was bizarre because the imprint on the inside has our married names (which is customary). OOOH!!!

I felt the same way. The yarmulkes were the first imprinted wedding item and was strange seeing OUR name! It's even stranger now when someone calls me Mrs. R (which is what EVERYONE at work has been doing since I got back yesterday). I keep expecting to see my MIL when someone calls me that!

We ordered our on line from jlowy.com. They are ivory suede with a gold imprint.

sounds lovely though. do they always come in the same color, or can they be whatever color you choose? I have never been to a jewish wedding (actually, I've never been to a synagogue or temple either )

They can be in any color or fabric you choose. My FMIL is crocheting them for the men walking down the aisle - should be nice as she is quite talented.

A yarmulke or kippah is a head covering that Jewish men wear in temple to pray. It can also be used to simply identify a man as Jewish. Some more egalitarian and reform congregations accept women wearing them, but traditionally, only married women cover their heads while praying with either a lace or crocheted doily.
