'Woe is me' VENT!

Original post by JessicaM.

Do you have anyone in your life that is a 'woe is me' type of person. Someone that thrives on the attention and pity of others? I can't stand people that wallow in pity...sh1t happens...deal with it. find a way to make it better...don't sit around 'basking' in the pity of others...don't go out of your way to 'remind' people of all the 'horrors' that are happening to you...

stuff happens to people EVERY day...it's called LIFE!

ugh..sorry- I just got through dealing with the woe is me in my life. So frustrating!

Carry on Brides! LOL

I tend to vent first then get over it second.

So while I realize to a lot of people on here that it seems like I am wallowing in my own self pity, the fact of the matter is, if you see me in person, you would know I'm not.

When I vent on here, I am not looking for sympathy, just plain venting. But definitely NOT looking for pity!! Maybe also to see if I am not the only person going through such BS or to make sure that I am justified in my actions or feelings. So if anyone here thinks that's what I'm doing you're sadly mistaken. And I know not many would have the balls to tell me this anyway.

uh...maybe you should relax a bit. I don't think anyone was addressing you. I said 'in my life' and I don't think LIW counts as 'in my life' in that sense- as much time as we may spend on here LOL

if you feel you may be leaving the wrong impression, that's one thing...set the record straight...you don't need to get defensive on my post. it wasn't about that.

I know, I got defensive, but mainly because I know I've been venting more than normal the past month or so.

As for the outburst, it's more than likely the damn monthly hormonal imbalance now that I look at the calendar.

But yeah, I know people like that. I'm more of a doer, I can't see people who just sit there and whine and do nothing about how miserable they are, especially when most of it they bring upon themselves!!!

This reminds me of that Saturday Night Life skit about Debbie Downer, no matter what is going on she finds a way of bringing everyone down.
I think we all have a debbie downer in our lives!!
MIne is called Lillian.

This a skit froM SNL:
Waiter: Good morning! Welcome to the Mickey's Breakfast Jamboree! My name is William, and I'll be serving you today. You guys here on a special occasion?
Brother 1: Well, we're here on that new Magical Gatherings family package. We've got the McKusick clan down from Ohio - right, guys? Say Hi!
Family: Hiiiii!!!!
Waiter: Well, great. Let me tell you Mickey's specials today - we've got steak and eggs, served with some home fries and Mickey waffles.
Brother 2: [ excited ] Whoo-oooo! I loves me some Steak and Eggs!
Debbie Downer: Ever since they found Mad Cow Disease in the U.S., I'm not taking any chances. It can live in your body for years, before it ravages your brain.
[ sound effect, as camera zooms in on Debbie's comic distraught face ]
Jingle:
'You're enjoying your day, everything's gonig your way Then, along comes Debbie Downer!
Always there to tell you about a new disease
A car accident or killer bees.
You'll beg her to spare you, 'Debbie, please.'
But you can't stop Debbie Downer!'

That is so funny - that is what my sister and I call a cousin of ours because she is always looking down on life. I mean my sister told her she got engaged and she said Oh thats nice- I just came from a funeral- the guy committed suicide- I am not kidding!! Another time we were talking about something nice and she says The guy at works father was in that helicopter crash in the city. She does things like this all the time.
