Do the majority of guests give cash or checks for the wedding gift?

I dont know, but I personally give checks made out to the grooms name, that way if someone steals it they cant cash it and if they want to deposit it, its easy.
I was married before and I had trouble cashing things that had my and my exs name on it together and things with my new married name because I hadnt changed my drivers license right away..

the majority of what we got was Checks, but we got somewhere between $1000 and $1500 cash (i dont remember exactly, but it was in that ball park)

I normally give cash, I think its easier access for HM and such.
