our house looks like a basketball court.. sooo smoooth and soooo shiney the floor looks wet.
i feel like if i step on it the wrong way i can peel a layer off.. u know like the wax on the bologna lmaoo
so uhmm..any pointers on how to keep the floor pretty?

Otherwise, don't worry. You're not going to scuff it up or peel the laminate off. Any good floor installer will put more than one layer of laminate anyway. DH installs/repairs wood floors so trust me, I know. And if you ever do scuff 'em up, let me know. He does excellent work. I think he's done my mother's entire block.

whenever they are wet or something spills, pick it up right away.
also, use those dry cloths on the mop (i guess swiffer) after sweeping. and if yu do need to clean them, use murphys oil.....
we jsut redid our entire house....this is what we have been doing and tey still look great. oh and if you do vacumn and not sweet, dont let the vacumn drag on the floors as it might dent or scratch it the first few months. and put pads under your couch or chairs so they dont scratch..

Get those little things you slide under the legs of the furniture. Or you can do it our ghetto fabulous way and put a towel under the side you're dragging.

get the pad things for under the legs of couches, chairs, tables etc. They prevent scuffing.
you can also get the felt stick on pads. they go on the bottom of anything that touches the wood floor.

Make sure you get those felt pads they sell for under the furniture so it slides around easily - I have all wood floors too and these things have really helped!

just got off the phone with DH.. he said that the guy that did our floors told him that our floors are very hard to maintain since they are super glossy

DON'T CLEAN THEM WITH OIL!!!!!!! if you ever have to re-finish them again it will make it a nightmare! And make sure you don't get pledge on them cause 1 - same reason as above and 2 - you will slip and fall on your a$$ real hard!

Sounds like the same floors my parents have. My mom uses the swiffer dry clothes.
If the kids drop something on the floor she using specific wood floor cleaner that she purchased from Home Depot or Lowes. She says that are really easy to keep clean.
As for your furniture my parents purchsed either rubber or soft 'feet' to put on everything.
They have the floors in for 9 years & they only have one scratch in them because my mom dropped a toast oven on the floor.
