I just got engaged about 2 weeks ago and am extremely excited to plan our wedding! Only catch is that we live in Tampa and are trying to plan a Long Island wedding.
I have seen WCC myself and absolutely LOVE the outdoor portion (we are having the ceremony at the hall we choose). But my mom saw East Wind today and she loves it more.
Based on pictures, I'm not changing my mind yet. I still think WCC. They have me penciled in for July '09 and we have a food tasting scheduled for January 19th.
Any opinions on either place?

one of my BM is getting married at eastwind ...its is absolutley gorgeous...i can't speak for the other cause i've never seen it, but im sure if u really want eastwind u would make a trip out there...u wont be disappointed! there outside area is amazing and there ARE a ton of photo oppurtunities...i think they have a bridal showcase coming up soon...maybe u could catch that while ur up...

I cant speak for WCC, but when I was trying to pick out RH, we looked at East Wind and fell in love with it from the moment we pulled up. we really wanted to get married in the Estate, however we have alot of OOT guests not to mention a lot of older people and we just felt that for a friday wedding it was going to be a hassle having people drive over an hour to EW... But I thought the grounds were gorgeous and the prices were great too.

The Inn at East Wind, the Country Gardens or East Wind Estate? All are very different in my opinion...
I love the Estate... Country Gardens are nice... not a fan of the Inn.
Food is great at Eastwind.
Dont think i have ever been to the Woodbury CC. Cant help there, but the pictures on the website look pretty.

fyi i dont know when ur coming up from tampa but eastwind is having there bridal showcase sun jan 13th at 1130..i would look into that definetly!

Not sure if this would help but when we looked at WCC, we were hoping to have access to the outdoor patio for the CH (weather permitting). WCC has two rooms for the reception and in order to have the outdoor cocktail hour, you have to book with the downstairs room. I believe that room holds up to 300 people which would have been too big for our size crowd. Also, I believe WCC does two weddings at a time...
East Wind (the Estate) has a minimum of 200 I think. Which was a bit high for us...
But both places are beautiful which is why we wanted to check them out. It depends on what you are looking for I guess. Good luck deciding!

Actually the minimum for the Estate is 150. We were going to book that but , at the time, only had a minimum of 125.
Obviously Im a fan of East Wind but in my opinoin I really think you should see each place for yourself. Like someone else mentioned, East Wind is having a bridal showcase on the 13th of January so if you could make that it would be a big help for you. Good luck!
I got married at WCC in November, and I cannot rave enough about them. Everything was amazing - our guests are still talking about how it was the best wedding they've ever been to!

We looked at probably 20 places and ended up booking the WCC! We have the downstairs room, and if you ever go there, make sure to ask if a wedding will be set up. When you see the cocktail hour set up and the reception set up it looks AMAZING!!!! Even the outdoor tent is awesome!

My FH and I went to a wedding at the Woodbury CC this summer and it was nice but there were two weddings going on at the same time and there was no way to figure out where the wedding we were attending was, we had to wait until we found people we knew. The food was OK, nothing special. We booked the Northampton at East Winds, the place is unbelievable. I looked at every room they have available and all of them are great!! East Winds can have more than one wedding going on at a time too but everything is separated so you don't run the risk of not knowing where to go. I have also heard the food is excellent at East Winds. Hope that helps!

Actually, WCC staggers their events by 1.5 hours, so unless you get there really really early, the chances of you running into another party are pretty slim. Also, the rooms are on completely separate floors - and each room gets their own bathroom - so again, unless you're wandering around you won't be running in to guests from another party.
Every venue is going to have some amazing reviews, and some not so amazing reviews - to each her own! But to the OP, just do a search and you'll find that the most recent WCC brides have been extremely happy.

Lol!! I agree!! Our cake was AWFUL!!! It was hideous, and tasted terrible!

I am not sure how many wedding are at WCC, but I know at East wind most of the time there are multiple weddings which I am not a fan of. Just something to think of.
