Ali, was there another event at the same time as yours? Could you see or hear anything from them, like music or talking? That's the one thing we're worried about with 2 events at a time. With the upstairs room, were you able to take pictures outside? I was just wondering if we booked the downstairs room, if the people upstairs would be outside taking pictures when our guests arrive? Also, random question, but if you used the included cake, how was it? Sorry to be a pest, I'm so worried about making the wrong decision. I can't wait to try the food on Sat!

Oops, one more question. Jack and Rose is house right? I think I remember seeing that name on the list. I've heard really good things about them. Did you use them for your boquets and centerpieces well? Were they reasonably priced?

Yes there was another wedding the same day as mine... We took our outdoor pictures on both sides (the downstairs area) and on the Mills/ Pond side. Basically they let me do that until the guests began to arrive. You really couldnt tell that there was another wedding going on at all. They do a good job separating the two areas. We got married outdoors at the pond... We had music during the ceremony, but I dont think they let you have music at an outdoor cocktail hour because there may be another ceremony going on. You should definitley look into that.
We used there cake and it was good. We had jack and rose decorate it. He is a house florist, we used him for all of our flowers and he the price was very reasonable. If you decide to use WCC I would at least go there and see what he can do for you.

I just wanted to dispell one piece of info that is on the contract that is not true. IF you have the cocktail hour outside, you can have music...I checked into that.
and Jack and Rose is totally reasonably priced and gives a lot of extras for WCC brides....but call him now

Does anyone have a picture of the downstairs room? I didn't get to see that room either...

Ali, your pictures were amazing. I love your dress! We're having our ceremony at my church, so I don't know if we'll decorate the gazebo, but I love how you had the tulling (sp?) on the bridge. I'll definitly check out Jack and Rose, your flowers were really pretty!

Dolphin, thanks for the music tip. I actually hadn't thought about having music at the cocktail hour, but it's good to know I can if I change my mind. What kind of music do people have at cocktail hours? I'm still new at this, stumbling along my merry way

Juizai, I don't have any pictures offhand of the downstairs room, but if you check out their website they have a photo gallery. The downstairs room is on page 2, bottom left pics.

Thanks for all the help! I'll keep posting as I think of more, hope I'm not being a pest.

Since I didn't get to go down stairs I was just wondering if it rains and you can't have the outdoor ch do you use the upstairs ch room or is there another one downstairs? Thanks for eveyones help!

Re: Woodbury Country Club??

I found the two rooms to be very different.

If you have the Garden Suite and it rains, they still have the CH outside. They are able to tent it so that no one gets wet, and they will set up part of the reception room for the food. I was a little concerned about what happens if it rains, because then the ceremony and the reception will be in the same room, but they are able to break down one thing and set up the next so quickly that no one will even notice. At least that's what I've heard and I feel confident that they'll be able to do a great job no matter what.

Ali, who decorated the bridge with tulle? It looked very pretty and I don't recall seeing it done before. Your photos are beautiful.

Re: Woodbury Country Club??

Hi,

My wedding reception was held at WCC on July 4th 2003 and it was amazing! It couldn't have been more perfect.

I have not one complaint about them and I HIGHLY recommend them.

My cocktail hour started at 7 and my reception started at 8. There was another wedding, but I believe their cocktail hour started at 8 and their reception at 9.

I did not hear or even see them once. Just at the end, while DH and I were walking alone outside looking up at the WCC from the reflecting pool. I noticed the wedding going on.

Since we arrived at the WCC so early (about 5 pm) they allowed us to take pictures over by the lake and on the bridge (the site for those who choose the upstairs room). So, I was very fortunate to get pictures everywhere. If you have the garden room, you are only supposed to get the reflecting pool/gazebo area. But again, we were early and our banquet manager mentioned that we could go over to the lake and take pictures.

The cake was incredible. We chose a canoli filling and it was terrific (I think it was the only thing I ate all night).

The food was incredible, I heard no complaints and again every wish we had was granted!

It was simply magical!

I posted some pics on one of the other WCC links pages. If you have any other questions, please let me know!

Good Luck!

I am getting married there next july and can't wait. I love the place. I am using the garden suite. I have been dealing with Dominick and it has been a pleasure.
