Re: Woodbury Country Club??
If you do a search, there are a good number of posts about this, including one from yesterday. Obviously, I have only good things to say so far, since I already booked them, but haven't had a tasting yet. Good luck!

Re: Woodbury Country Club??
Thanks! Question for the WCC brides. I noticed on the price quote they gave us, it said that you have to use a house florist for the reception? Can I make my own centerpieces and use flowers? Or do I have to use one of their vendors for the flowers? I only noticed this after we left, otherwise I would have said something, I will ask about it when we go on Sat. Also, does anyone know their cancellation policy? (Yet another thing we neglected to ask) Thanks again!

Re: Woodbury Country Club??
I 'think' you only have to use the house florist if you are having the wedding ceremony there... if you are just doing the centerpieces, you can use any florist as long as they have the right amount of insurance. As for making your own.. I would ask, I really don't know. Sorry.

Re: Woodbury Country Club??
I agree with July2004bride. If you are having only the reception, you can have any florist you wish. They do give out sheets with recommended vendors, florists, photographers, etc, but they are only recommendations. I don't know if there are any stipulations when the ceremony is held there.

Re: Woodbury Country Club??
WCC was amazing and I am happy I had my wedding there! elbee3 what room are you looking at?
You only need to use a house Florist for the gazebo...., you could use any other florist for indoors Jack & Rose is a house florist, he's great. If you decide to book check him out. Me and FI went for a tasting back in JUly, the food was great!

Re: Woodbury Country Club??
Awesome, thanks!! We're looking at the room downstairs, the garden room I think it is. We really wanted the cocktail hour outside, and they said that's the only room that we could have. I thought it was really cool how if it rains, they'll put up a tent and we could still have the cocktail hour outside. Congrats on your wedding, I'm so glad to hear everything went well!

Re: Woodbury Country Club??
Does anyone know what the minimums are for both rooms? I'm having around 150-170 people, do you think they will look lost in these rooms?

Re: Woodbury Country Club??
We booked the Garden Suite with a minimum of 125 people. They will close off part of the room if you don't have enough people to fill it up, I believe.

Re: Woodbury Country Club??
I didn't see the upstairs room since we only wanted the cocktail hour outside, but the garden room would definitly fit 170 comfortably. I think he said it holds 220. The guy said they take 80% of your invite list and make that the minimum, so there really isn't a set number. There is a wall they pull out to make the room smaller if your party isn't that big. We're having about 130-150 and I think we'll ask to have the wall up. But it's not necessary.

Re: Woodbury Country Club??
What is the minimum of the room upstairs? Im also consdiering WCC. So let me get this straight, if I want the cocktail hour outside I HAVE TO take the garden room downstairs? I was hoping to have the outside cocktail hour and the upstairs room. Also I read on one of these threads that you can swindlea viennese option. How do I go about getting that?

Re: Woodbury Country Club??
I actually really wanted to have my cocktail hour outside too, but I didn't get to see the downstairs room because it was being used. I heard it was pretty much the same as the upstairs room, is that true? Also does anyone know if they set up the food outside or inside for the cocktail? I'm going to have to go back saturday to look around again

Re: Woodbury Country Club??
Yeah, the guy said that the only room that you can have the cocktail hour outside is the downstairs room. Basically once you're on your floor, you're there for the duration. I don't know anything about the top floor - we didn't even go up to see it, but I have a feeling that it has a lower minimum because the guy said something like if you are only having 100 ppl then the downstairs room would be too big. But I could be totally wrong. But the guy said that if we weren't flexible about having the cocktail hour outside, then there was no point in looking at the upstairs room.

Re: Woodbury Country Club??
I used the upstairs 'Mills' Room. We had over 200 people and there it was pretty big. If you use the upstairs room, you have to have an indoor cocktail hour which is located on the first floor. I was going to use the downstairs room, but the in their contract it says that you cant have any music during an outdoor cocktail hour. If you are getting married at the WCC you have to use the house florist OR you have to provide proof of insurance. The house florists I guess know where to hang flowers, and I think they feel an outside florist may damage the gazebo by putting nails in it to hang stuff. We used Jack and Rose. They were great and he does weddings there all the time so he is very familiar with the set up of the country club. Here is a picture of the upstairs room. The main difference is that the dance floor is not in the center of the room, as it is downstairs.
