Woodbury Country Club brides (past & present)

Hello,
I'm having my reception upstairs (I think it's called the Terrace room but I don't remember )
I'm going to start looking into florists soon but I was just wondering did you get flowers for the cocktail room? It is necessary or just a waste of $$??

Thanks!

I used to work there and its totally unnecessary. They put these really pretty gold candle things on the table and they look very nice. If you really wanted flowers you could do them but you def dont need them.

Hi Mabell

We also had the upstairs room (Mills Terrace). We were considering getting flowers for the CH, but we decided against it. Unfortunately I only have about 2 pictures from our CH, but from what I can tell, each table has a mini lamp (prob. an oil lamp), with a beaded lamp shade, and there are a few small votives surrounding it.

IMHO, I don't think it's worth the extra $$ to get flowers for the CH - no one will notice them! I'd concentrate more on your CP's for the reception - if guests are going to remember the flowers, those are the ones they'll notice.

Did you block hotel rooms for your OOT guests? If you did, which one did you use?

Thanks!

Yup, we blocked off rooms at the Huntington Hilton - I do not recommend them at all. The people working at the hotel are completely incompetent, rude and blatant liars. The rooms are ok, but for the amount of aggravation I went through, it definitely wasn't worth it. Plus their rates are kinda pricey, and they give you nothing (a lot of the cheaper hotels throw in breakfast or a shuttle service).

Have you looked into any of the hotels on Jericho Turnpike? I think there's a Best Western and an Executive Inn right near WCC....

I haven't looked at any of the hotels yet. I don't live on Long Island so sometimes it's tough for me to get out there. I've seen the websites but I'd like to see them in person just to make sure it isn't some dump--lol But I'm def. going to be doing that soon.

Thanks for giving me the heads up about the Huntington Hilton.

No I hear ya....we're from Manhattan so it was a pain in the a$$ (and expensive) getting out to LI on the weekends. If you ever have any other questions feel free to FM me !
