woodlands at westbury...help!
Hi ladies,Can anyone help me with a question about The Woodlands in Woodbury? My FH and I fell in love with it over the weekend and were shocked to learn it was in our price range. It’s a gorgeous mansion, no site fee, beautifully decorated, and on really well manicured grounds at the Town of Oyster Bay golf course. Of course, now we learn that the vendor is under investigation for fraudulent practice involving the business, his other venue in Long Island City closed unexpectedly, and the Town is considering breaking the contract with Woodlands and installing a new caterer (Newsday: http://www.newsday.com/business/oyster-bay-town-seeks-new-concessionaire-to-replace-harendra-singh-at-town-golf-course-1.11161679)
Are any of you working with Woodlands? We want a December 2016 wedding. Any advice out there?

We liked Woodlands too but I would stay away! It could be fine, but it wouldn't be worth it to me to be worried if my venue was going to still be open for my wedding. FSIL went looking there and a former employee told her to stay away because all of the money/business issues.

thanks so much for your quick feedback! It's so helpful to hear real experiences of people who have thought about having their reception there. It's a perfect spot for us, but I'm so nervous...

My friends are getting married there next September. Unfortunately all these issues didn't come to light until after they had already signed their contract. Since all this happened they have been promised that their wedding will be perfect and they have been given various perks....unfortunately the couple is on edge everyday because they loved this place and chose not to move to a different venue. I would say stay away and find another venue, one that won't have you wondering about money/business issues. Good luck with your planning.

Thanks so much! They’ve told me a complicated story about management contracts being bought out and the Town of OB guaranteeing service and the chef remaining the same, but it’s still very unsettling. Good luck to your friend!
