Woodlands brides - No platform or stage for band?

Hi,
I'm new here. Getting married at the Woodlands next year and I just recently booked a 9 piece band. The bandleader seemed pretty adamant that the band looks best on a raised platform, which unfortunately the Woodlands doesn't have! Have any other Woodlands brides been through this? Did your band look ok ground-level? Has anyone ever rented a platform? Do you think the dance floor is big enough with a rented platform? We are having a big wedding, with about 250 people. Thanks!

nope.. just was at a wedding there this weekend. no platform or anything for the band. they were on ground level directly across from the sweetheart table.. The dancefloor is DEF not big enough for a platform

my girlfriend got married there 12.31.06 and Renegade was her band...and thats why I booked them. It was awesome and the crowd got very involved...you dont need a platform.. (they were 8 pieces) It is such a great venue...congrats!

Congratulations!! the woodlands is a beautiful place to get married at - -we have the most beautiful photos from our wedding. you will love it.

now about your question. Not for nothing but is this guy short? Why is he demanding a platform?

is the band leader willing to pay for the platform? if not then its his problem - -not yours.

I had a bad there ( Shannon Breeze) when i got married last august and they rocked the whole night and they did not have a platform. The dancefloor was never empty the whole nights and not wone person came up to me and said 'You know, the band would ahve looked better on a platform'

People are still talking about the music and the food.

Just make sure they they ahve insurance and you should be good to go. THey gave me a hard time about this cause the woodlands is on state land and they are not covered for bands that are not on there in house list.

if any other woodlands brides to be have any questions feel free to e-mail me.

I had the same concern but we are opting to not rent a platform. Dancefloor space is already limted due to layout of ballroom. I don't want to loose another inch. CONGRATS!! I am onyl have a few more months to go so I will def let you know how it all works out

i got married at the Woodlands, and have to agree with everyone else...there is definitely NO room for a platform. I would not worry about this at all!

I'm getting married at the Woodlands too!!
We booked Renegade and he discouraged me from a platform. You don't need it. You are going toneed the additional room on the dance floor anyway to accomidate the # of guests you are inviting.
