woodlands girls- long and important!!

Original post by cateydee

i had a drama filled day yesterday. i found out that eileen is no longer with the company and i totally freaked out. i couldnt handle going through meeting another BM when i only have 1 month to the wedding. I have gone through 8 people, BMs and other employees, who have tried to help me through this process. Going through all these people has only increased my stress and anxiety over the past 16 months. So yesterday was my breaking point and i was all out bawling at my desk. I wanted to change venues, thats how bad it was.

I called FH who was in the middle of a million things at work and he called my mom. a bunch of phone calls were made and we decided to keep our tasting appointment that had ben set for last night. The new general manager, Antonio, spoke with FH and managed to allay his fears. We got to the tasting and he spent the ENTIRE time with us (almost 3 hours!). He promised that he would be there on the day of our wedding in the Maitre'd capacity. He managed to answer all of our questions that we've had pending for all of this time, and was very straight up about everything, which i truly appreciate.

I am going to cautiously say that i have faith that there will be no more ordeals, dramas or tears and that it will be smooth sailing from this point forward. I am not one to badmouth a vendor which is why i am writing to let you know that the woodlands is making it right. Of course, I have 100% full faith that the day of will be spectacular, judging from past brides reviews and the food from the tastings. I just want to let the other brides know what's been going on so that they dont have to stress the way that I have.

The thing about them not notifying people pisses me off because even when the guy who sold my sister her car left the dealership she got a freakin letter. Would it kill someone to send a freakin letter out????

that's what i was talking to fh about - they really need to notify us brides that oh so and so has left and so so and is your new point of contact...

good luck with sally...

i suggested that to them. but imagine how many lettters they would have to send out! lol

I too understand your frustrations. The Woodlands is a mess right now, and its not fair to make brides stress out weeks prior to their big day.

I will say, however, that they came through for us big time during our wedding a couple of weeks ago (granted both Eileen and Sally were still there).

Our guests are still in awe of the venue, the food and their services. I am constantly receiving messages from our guests, praising The Woodlands. And I feel a lot of our success had to do with Antonio and Sam (bridal attendant). So the fact that they are both still there will hopefully help you sleep a little better.

Sorry you are dealing with this! Hope you have a great wedding!

I say you milk them for all the upgrades you can get! : ) (fondant, food enhancements, Viennese, etc.)!

They said that they are very sorry and that the tasting should not have gone the way it did and they would schedule another tasting for us. Sally said she would email me with some details but HASN'T!

But I am hoping that the next meeting goes much BETTER than the next!! It better be!! Will keep you posted!!

For those who went to tasting and had positive experiences - what was your favorite?

Re: woodlands girls- long and important!!

We just booked with Eileen last month! I guess I won't be getting any notification...

Do we know where she went??

Oh, and as for the $5-7pp MD charge, i was told it's suggested and we can pay what we feel is appropriate for us. .

OMG!! After reading this thread I don't know if I should be happy that I am not the only one who is upset about this or even more irritated.

I have been trying to get in touch with Eileen to add an after party to the contact and there was never any response - now this makes totally sense!!!

Now I don't know who to call!? How did you girls get in touch with the management?

I had a good tasting experience. I really liked the passed apps. I also enjoyed the Filet Mignon and Seabass! They were serving us some strange appricot chicken and a somewhat plain chicken that I wasn't crazy about! The waiter we had that night overheard me and had the chef prepare me a parmesean crusted chicken! It was really nice and we ended up picking that!

The desserts were standard. Good standard wedding cake! Overall we had ag reat time. I am supposed to email Eileen my selections but I guess that won't be happening!

Re: woodlands girls- long and important!!

I have to say, my BM changed between booking and my wedding, and it wasn't a big deal at all. I had Melanie to start, and ended up with Sally. Everything that I discussed with Melanie ended up happening, including prices and little extras, and Sally honored everything that Melanie promised us. I wouldn't worry about it.

The same thing happened to me with Eileen. I had my final appt. with Sally last week and everything was good except that when I asked her if she was going to be my BM she couldnt give me a straight answer.
