woohoo - shuttle transportation is set - Thanks to the Wingate Inn!
I just heard back from the hotel where we blocked rooms. The Wingate Inn has a discount program where you can choose from several different discounts if you have a certain number of people book rooms. We had so many rooms booked that we got 1.5 discounts!!
One discount would have entitled us to our choice of several discounts, but we really wanted to use ours for transportation. With 1.5 discounts, they are paying for one shuttle round trip (drop off and pick up) to our reception and another shuttle one way. All we have to pay for now is one shuttle one way to make up the difference.
I'm soooooooo excited.
I have to say, everyone I've dealt with at the Wingate has been really lovely. This incentive is also great!! We didn't have to pay a dime and now we almost don't have to pay anything to provide shuttle transportation for our guests!
The other options for the discount were money off the cost of one night in the bridal suite or money off a next day brunch.
I'll let you know after the wedding how our guests liked the hotel and the shuttles!

I definitely will. My brothers will be staying there so they don't have to drive and I'll debrief them when we get back from our honeymoon!

They told me 15, too. However, I blocked rooms for Friday and Saturday night. Some people are coming on Friday. Each night counts as 1, not each room.

Yes it does!!
If 5 people stay Friday and Saturday night and an additional 5 people stay Saturday night, that's 15 rooms. 5 Friday + 1- Saturday.
Just make sure you block rooms for both nights!!

I used the Wingate Inn and they were wonderful.
We had so many rooms booked that we got:
2 shuttles from the hall to the hotel after the reception 1 shuttle from Wingate Inn to the church (a 20 minute drive at least) for my international guests Discounted honeymoon suite
They also kept the bar open for us til 1 AM.
I had a wonderful experience with them. they were great! good luck!

I'm using the Wingate too! They are amazing & so great to work with (especially Cynthia!). How many rooms did you book to get 1.5 discounts? I think 15 rooms and I was told $$ of a bridal suite or a shuttle (one way).
Thanks!

I was thinking about using them - that sounds like a great inventive. My family would stay Thurs-Fri-Sat night so I'm pretty sure we'd get to 15 pretty quickly.
