Just dropped another load of $$$! . We also took a look at the rooms at the inn. All of them to be exact. We saw the parlor, ambassador, traditional, and junior suites. We were going to just go with the traditional room that's comp prior to our visit. This time I had FH with me so we went looking at them all. FH really liked the ambassador but he and I both agreed for the amount of time we will be in there it does not pay. However, FH and I wanted a little more than just the tradional room. So, we booked the junior suite. The only thing we had to pay is $40! The guy at the desk was so helpful too. I kept going back for keys and asking questions and he was so nice!. I have to say, I love east wind. They have been so wonderful!!! I could not be happier! They really do bend over backwards! FH and I are really excited. Every time I walk around there I get giddy!

That sounds awesome! I'm equally excited b/c we just booked East Wind (the Estate) Tues night! I also want to block off rooms at the Inn, but we're concerned about the price our guests would need to pay (expensive). After showing the East Wind DVD to my friends this weekend, they all said they would be willing to pay the price. I want to go back to the Inn to see what kind of deal they give us if we block off a lot of rooms.
On a side note, FH has been away all weekend on for a friend's Bachelor Party, and I miss him! He comes home tomorrow night! YAY!

Congrats on booking!
Yeah, I am going to give guests the option of staying at the Best Western, also because of the price. A lot of guests have chosen to stay the night at the Inn anyway. They said they have time to save the money.
I believe they give you some sort of discount for blocking the rooms, but you have to put down the deposits on all of them. YUCK! Needless to say I am leaving it up to the guests to make the reservations. I can't afford to pay anything down on rooms that are so expensive.
I think what I am going to do is, with my save the date cards, I will also send information about both hotels and they can make the decision.

Not a bad idea, the only reason we didn't want to give options is b/c we want everyone to continue the party w/ us at a hotel bar, and than we can plan brunch the next day for whoever stays over. If we need to put a deposit for every room, than it looks like we're also gong to wind up at the Best Western. We'll see...
Okay, very late, time for bed!

I would be right there with you! Probably sleeping in the lobby though! I hear ya on wanting everyone together. I pray they do choose east wind, if not we will have to make arrangements so they can join us for brunch the next day anyway.

CONGRATS East Wind is SO stunning from the outside (i've never been inside). I would have loved to have looked there but it's just too far out east for me! Congrats!

We are staying the night there as well but I think I am going to block rooms at the Hampton Inn. I just think the rooms at the Inn are a little too much even with the discount and I think the Hampton Inn will provide a shuttle.

We don't have too many OOT guests, but if they come in from islip (which most will be from florida), FH and I will get them transported to the hotels one way or another.

we have quite a few oot guests but we absolutely fell in love with the place so we booked it...thats why we're getting a hotel for everyone....we figured its our wedding, we should have it where we want, while still accomodating everyone else at the same time....
