Scott and I want to include our parents in the wording, but we are paying for the wedding. We don't want to offend anyone. If I put my parents request your honor it appears that they are paying for it. Any suggestions?

Re: wording on the invitation
I am sort of going through the same thing - my grandmother is paying for about half the wedding and we (FH and I) are pretty much paying for other half - so I am probably going to do the wording...'Together with their families' - that way - my grandma is part of it and I am not really 'showcasing' a particualr family member who may not really be contributing.

Re: wording on the invitation
what about something like this:
Lisa Ann Decker and Mr. Mark Robert Vetter together with their parents Mr. and Mrs. James R. Decker and Dr. and Mrs. Thomas W. Vetter invite you to share in the joy when they exchange marriage vows and begin their new life together on Saturday, the fifth of June Nineteen hundred and ninety-nine at one-thirty in the afternoon Kirk of the Hills Church 465 Delcrest Drive Columbia, South Carolina
ETS: Include their names so they feel special but put their names after yours.... Or write 'together with their families....'
we threw appearances out the window when we did our invites..we're paying for most of the wedding and my parents are helping.....but we worded the invite so it said both of our sets of parents are inviting people to the wedding. i don't really care who contributes financially - both of our parents love and supposrt us and both of them should appear on our invitation (JMO)

Re: wording on the invitation
We are going to include both sets of parents. I am just deciding how to work it. Right now it reads:
THis Day I Will Marry My Best Friend.... The One I Laugh With, Live For Dream With, Love Mr. And Mrs. John Doe Request The Honour Of Your Presence At THE MARRIAGE OF THEIR DAUGHTER DANIELLE MARIE TO SCOTT ANDREW SON OF MR. AND MRS. JOE SMITH Then the info.

Should we change it to: MR. AND MRS.JOHN DOE AND MR. AND MRS. JOE SMITH REQUEST THE HONOUR OF YOUR PRESENCE AT THE MARRIAGE OF THEIR CHILDREN.... THEN OUR NAMES????

Re: wording on the invitation

Re: wording on the invitation
We had a tricky one too..
My husbands parents are both deceased so we worded it like this..
Noreen xxxx xxxx daughter of xxx xxx
and
Anthony xxx xxx son of the late xxxx xxx xxx request the hounour of your presence
This way they were on there but they werent requesting the presence ya know?
