Yes, plenty - but I think it is inevitable in a firm this size.

Same here. I am still so 'new' here (even though its been 2 years) and some of these ladies have been here forever .. so I'll never fit in, and actually that is fine.
I'm not a part of ANY cliques. At this office I am such a loner here and basically keep to myself
ETA: at my old office I was not really in a 'clique' but everyone knew everyone and I made some of my best friends at that job, whom I still hang out with and love dearly

Re: Work Friends
When I wasn't, work was a nightmare. We'd have staff meetings and I would go to sit down and get a cold look and a, 'That seat is SAVED.' It was horrible. My friends aren't bizotches like those people but at least I have someone watching my back!

Some.
We have that too, though there are some groups that are divided more among age lines with race not being an issue. I am not really part of a clique but the people I vent to when I need to are not really part of a clique, and we are among the younger teachers in my building. I guess we are part of the 'non-clique' clique.

Definitley in my office. My boss is the ring leader, and I'm sooo not part of it. It upsets me somtimes when they all go out to lunch and I'm not invited...

Re: Work Friends
I'm not at my job often enough to be 'in' with the other receptionists. They're to catty for me anyway. My only friends at work are 2 50yr old women- I can't tolerate anyone else!

Re: Work Friends
My job def has cliques. The women here are so catty and backstabbing that sometimes I cannot take it. Thankfully I got promoted in January and now I work in a dept where there's only me and the boss and she's pretty cool. I don't really associate with anyone else now. It's just too much drama.

Re: Work Friends
yes, there def are where I work. A few weird / catty situations have gone on so lately I have been trying to back off, keep to myself and pretty much associate with only a few I know I can trust.

Re: Work Friends
Yes, there are definitely cliques. I feel like I'll never be accepted because I've only been here six months and everyone else has been here for many, many years. Plus, I work for the head of the department and feel like no one will ever trust me no matter what I do.

I've never worked anyplace big enough to have cliques.

Re: Work Friends
Oh yes definitely. There are SO many. The worst are the political ones. I guess you can say I am part of one, but only because of the department I work for, not by choice. And I have disassociated myself from the 'main' clique that we used to be a 'sub-clique' of.

Re: Work Friends
it sounds corney but we are one big happy family BUT when you are new it takes some time until you are really a part of it
