So as the year goes on (I am a teacher) I am finding that there are people I want to invite, people I would like to invite (because we eat lunch together but aren't super close, but could be in the future), people who I don't want to invite but feel I might have to (teachers on the same grade) and people that automatically think they are invited. By the time I am done I have 20 people plus their dates....what should I do?

I am a teacher also, i invited my work friends that also are my real life friends, plus my boss... its hard to cut some of the work friends bc they feel so important in your everyday life, so if you feel like you would want them there on your wedding day then invite them all lol

This!!! But if you are on a budget, I would suggest inviting the boss and the people you hang out with outside of work.

I wouldn't invite anyone, but thats bc we have a tight list. If it was a huge wedding I still wouldn't wanna have more then one table of 12.

We really didn't want more than 135(our minimum) but it seems like our invite list is reaching 200. I know I def don't want to invite my boss but it is my colleagues that are plaguing me! Help

I dont know if this helps but i am only inviting the coworkers that i am super close with and have met their husbands and wifes - this way i know that i will still be freinds with them after - each year my lunch period changes and i become really close with different people and they all think they are invited - but sorry just because i eat lunch with you doesn't mean that you need to be part of the most important day of my life so far - i dont even know their life and they want to be part of my special day? We are trying to draw the limit that we need to hang out outside of work to justify an invite to the wedding for coworkers

I'm a teacher also. I'm inviting my three assistants (sans dates, because they're all single), a 1:1 from my class, my program coordinator and her husband, and a co-worker and her FH (she invited me to hers).

I am a teacher too. I am going to invite my teacher friends who I hang out with outside of work, those on my grade, and most likely the administration.

Re: Work 'friends'
I work in the superintendent's office at my school. It's him, me, his assistant and another secretary. We all work very closely, but I honestly don't feel like inviting any of them. They keep asking me how wedding planning is going, and I tell them, but I don't like feeling obligated to invite them because we are not close outside of work. Ugh. I have a while until invites go out, so maybe I'll feel differently at that time...but Idk.....
