Work Parties

Anybody else hate these but feel obligated to go?

Like retirement parties, stuff like that?

Yup!

I even feel like that sometimes when people go out for a group work lunch! You feel like you can't say no!

I do, especially since I am a bit younger than most of the other teachers I work with. Not that they aren't nice, but in general no one really goes to the parties. Our holiday party had to be cancelled because hardly anyone was going. My principal was annoyed at me until I reminded him that I would have had to pay for myself and DH, and it would have been $100, and we were trying to save.

We are having our school's prom at the Botanical Gardens, though, and our end term party will coincide (party while you chaperone! ) but I will likely go to that.
