Re: Working out

Do you feel good after you workout? Do you get the voice in you head that says, 'that made me feel good, I should have done this yesterday!, and the day before!'

If you feel this way after you go to the gym, then remind yourself of this feeling when you need motivation.

Sometimes you just need to get there, then it's easy.

Also, make it easy for yourself to get there. When is your time that you can get to the gym? Is it before work? after? during lunch? Get a gym bag with everything you need, keep it in your car if you drive to work, keep it under you desk if you can go during lunch, etc.

I read fitness magazines on the train, even old issues, if I want to save money. (they repeat the same info anyway) This keeps me motivated.

Hope this helps, I know I tend to sound like I lecture!

Good luck!

Snowboardgirl, I second that! (girl, we must've been separated at birth!)
I read Muscle & Fitness Hers - that always gets me motivated. I think, 'I want legs like that, or shoulders like that' and it helps me get my tired butt to the gym. I also have my gym bag ready to go and some good tunes to listen to.

Same here! I say, if she can have legs like that, I can too!

It sounds funny, but I love to workout. I think anyone can love it if they stick with it. When you see the results, the motivation comes easy.

Reading these posts get me motivated too!

Ann, you motivate me!! Its good to know I am not alone. I don't have friends who work out, so I get comments sometimes like, you are always there, and stuff like that. Which is a crock! I get to the gym at most 4 days a week, and thats on a good week sometimes.

I know, it's good to have people to motivate you! Lord knows I need motivation - I'm not very energetic (well, at least not during the week when I'm sleep deprived!). So even people like us who don't need to lose weight still need that little kick every now and then...
