I've been doing pretty well with going to the gym (and now that I have a wedding date that is less than a year away I am really trying to keep on schedule) but I feel like I am hitting a wall, I do a mix of cardio and weights but nothing seems to be changing and I am getting frustrated and therefore am losing motivation to go.
Anyone have any advice? I'd love to have a trainer but I can't really afford one...
Has anyone tried finding a workout buddy? Has that helped at all?

Re: Workout slump
I have a friend who is a trainer, and these are the things she told me:
1- you will feel better about your workouts if you DO NOT go every day. Your body needs time to recover.
2- watch what you eat. There are certain things your body needs to be able to burn fat and build muscle.
3- there will be a time when you aren't losing weight- but remember as you gain muscle, muscle weighs more then fat.
4- mix it up. when your body gets used to something, it is less and less effective.
i have hit what i believe to be my 'slump' the past few weeks, and weight isnt going down, and I dont feel like I cant see anything ...but i remember these things and stick to it and i have noticed that my jeans, that were my skinny me jeans, are looser on the legs. SO thats something!!!

Re: Workout slump
Workout buddies definitely help!! My friend and I try to meet at least 3 times a week for weights and cardio. It makes it more fun and I look forward to going. Once I'm there, I end up motivating her! lol.
