I am getting married next Sept. and I havn't gone dress shopping yet, nor have we done our registry but I see of lot of you ladies that are getting married about the same time as me or later already have these things taken care of. I'm getting married on the same day and my dress is sitting in the closet...wish i would have waited a bit longer. Keep in mind if you go to David's Bridal they do not hold your dress. Your not behind but i would start looking now so you can casually take your time and not feel rushed. Happy Shopping!!!

Re: Worried

I'm getting married next November and just booked my hall .. I have nothing else done, BUT I have been doing all of my research on the 'next steps'. I am in the process of recovering from surgery and moving at the same time, so once we booked the hall, our efforts have been focused on healing and moving. Once we are in our new place, we will resume wedding planning. Good Luck!!

I wouldn't say you're behind at all, BUT I wouldn't wait too much longer to start looking for dresses.

I'm getting married next June and I ordered my gown in July and it's not in yet. They had told me that I should order my gown by August at the latest. Of course each place is different. But still...I'd get looking sooner rather than later!

But don't stress! Have fun!

A lot of girls have been engaged for a bit. Your fine. Just start looking around a little and go from there. It'll hit you soon and you'll just do everything in a huge wave.

You'll do nothing for a few months, then come back with like 5 checks in a month (if that long).

Don't worry at all. I'm getting married in July and I still don't have a dress. We only have the RH, Church and Band. You're not behind! It it gets to like March and you haven't ordered your dress, then I would start to worry. lol. But for now, enjoy it!

No I wouldn't worry at all!!! I'm getting married the week after you, and although I've been dress shopping, the place told me to come back in November to get measured, so I obviously went a tad early. Just don't wait much much longer. Start getting some ideas and plan on going in the next couple months!

And as for registering, we only did one place and only registered for like 40 things for a start.

Take your time and enjoy it!

I haven't gotten my dress yet. Only tried on 1 so far.

We registered but will have to do it again when it gets closer to shower time only because a ton of what we registered for isn't available anymore so I think you can def wait on that.

Re: Worried

Hi date twin!
After looking at all the vendors that you listed on your pf, I would have to say I am way behind! You have MOST of your major vendors booked, which is a huge accomplishment, with a little less than a year left. You're deff where you need to be and where I need to get!! lol!
As for the dress, I would say start looking now. I have mine, but the only reason is bc I was given an amazing opportunity. If that never happened, I would've started to look for dresses around the end of August. I still have to start looking for my Indian outfit though.
As for the registry, IMO unless your bridal shower is coming up really soon, don't stress yourself over it. FH and I started ours months ago and barely looked at it since. I do log on here and there to add misc items, but I'm not killing myself over it bc no one is going to see it until the shower invites go out! (which won't be until May at least!)
If you have DIY projects you want to do, now would be the time to do it. Since we have a little less than a year, we can pace ourselves out nice and evenly so that when crunch time comes, we're not freaking out and stressing moreso than needed!

You have plenty of time, but you may want to start dress shopping now if you think it might take you a while.

I registered early because I had an engagement party...if you aren't have an e-party, then you really only need to make sure you are registered a few months before your shower...

Good Luck with everything!

Hey date twin,

Don't stress...you have plenty of time!! I ordered my dress already, but that's because I found it in the first store I stepped into! I was lucky! You still have a few months before you need to worry about it - but that likely depends on the designer you're ordering. Usually 6-8 months in advance is enough time to avoid a rush charge. As far as the registry goes - we did that too, but we're not done with ours. It's just been started really. You're going to want to have it done before you have a bridal shower...my guess that would be coming in the spring/early summer. So again, you still have time for that!

No need to worry about it! You seem to have all the big vendors and stuff booked, so you'll be fine!!

Re: Worried

I think you have plenty of time. You should prob get your dress within the next couple of months though. Registry you can do in the Spring after the holidays.

I'm just a compulsive planner and want to get everything done ASAP so I have a little 'time off' before everything kicks in again.

Re: Worried

you have plenty of time. if you want, register before the holidays so tha tif some family/friends wanted to, they could get you items from your registry, but this is not mandatory and as long as its done before your bridal shower, your fine.

dress shopping is a personal thing and if you want to wait a bit longer you can, just keep inmind that some dresses take longer to come in so ask before youorder that it will be in in time for your wedding. don't rush into anything just because you see some other bride may have done it already

Re: Worried

People have planned weddings in just a few months so I don't think you are behind at all. Don't stress it and just start getting motivated bit by bit.

Don't be worried, I'm getting married in May and haven't gone dress shopping yet, but will be going next weekend with my godmother (as soon as I get a hold of her). I hope that finding The One will be much easier than finding the RH!
