I ordered my dress in the size I measured as, even thoug I plan on losing weight before the wedding. The woman that measured me told me not to go down a size because I shouldn't stress myself out just in case I wasn't successful with losing weight . She also said that my dress can be altered down to 4 sizes smaller if necessary.
I am worried that if it is too big and it has to be altered too much that my dress won't look right, but I am also worried that if I order it in a smaller size that it will be too small, in case my size doesn't change by the wedding.
Should I call and try to change my order to a smaller size, or should Ijust stick with the size I ordered? HELP!!!!

I would listen to the woman who measured you - she's an expert (hopefully!). I would stick with the size you ordered...dresses can be taken in a lot easier than they can be taken out. I wouldn't worry one bit.

I agree! Taking a dress in is a lot easier than making it bigger. Stick with what you ordered. You will be fine! (My dress is an 8, and I need it altered down to a 4 or 2!! My seamstress said that it won't be a problem!)

I did not listen to them.
I ordered 2 sizes smaller than they wanted me to, because I knew I was going to lose weight. I ended up needing 3 sizes smaller!
Go with what you think!

your best bet is to order the dress big or the size you are now. If you have a dress that is to small it will not look that good to make it bigger a dress that had to be made smaller is very easy to fix.

I ordered my dress a size smaller then they wanted to order. I have a corset back so I knew that it would not be a problem either way. I had also tried my size in another store and it fit perfect. I did not have to worry if it was going to fit or not.

Re: Worried about my dress size . . .
It is always do-able to go down, but not always up with Alterations.
I have a friend having a BM dress taken in from a 18 to a 6 and it is only $60.00 for her alterations.
My wedding dress is being completely re-built right now because I lost close to 40 lbs. And the dressmaker was not phased by this at all.
You can always call the store to see if they have placed the order and see if you can change it. If not, don't worry I'm sure it can be altered.

I would stick with what they tell you. If the dress comes in too big, then THEY have to alter it at the quoted alteration capped price, NO MATTER how much needs to be done. If you order smaller than they suggest you'll have to sign a waiver and you'll be responsible. Let the bridal salon worry if they have to practically remake it to fit you. THEY measured you.
