I just cannot wait until this little girl is born. Since my husband works in the same area where we live, he keeps calling me giving me updates on the weather. He insists that I should leave now. But it's not snowing in Westchester... it is in the city!
He's absolutely driving me crazy! I know he's only looking out for my best interest, but I can't just leave work. I'm 8 months pregnant, so realistically I probably should have stayed home all together today, but I have to send this darn project out ealy next week...
Does anyone else have a worrisome hubbie like mine? And did he ease up when the little ones were born or did that just make things worse???

Re: Worrisome hubbies
Hi Jen, you haven't met my hubby -- Mr. Nervous Nellie himself -- have you? The man was a nut and it didn't ease up after the baby was born either, sorry!!! I will say, he's getting a little bit better as Gianna is getting bigger, but he's still a worrywart!!!
I can't have him w/me when I bring her to the dr for her shots, I can't have him in the room with me when I put the syringe in her nose to clear it out, I can't have him near me when I put the drops in her nose!!! It just goes on and on.....
But I happen to totally agree with your DH today -- you really should go home before it really starts snowing hard! Take it from me -- I was 9 months preggo during the blackout and I had to walk down 49 floors and home to Queens from Manhattan!!!! I won't tell you how nervous the hubby was during that! Go home now before it gets any worse!!!!

Re: Worrisome hubbies
mine's one. he's getting more Italian the bigger I get!!! He refuses to let me drive suddenly - snow or no snow - so I am sneaking out when hes not looking to leave for work every morning! And then he gets there and says - you should leave now - after I have been there for 10 minutes....
Forget going out in the snow. He just called me to see if I am having soup - I was like SOUP? What for? I am not sick!
It's cute it really is....but can get unbearable. He also doesn't like when I push on my stomach gently to get the baby to move. He says my showers are too hot and that I should stop coughing (I had a bad cough I am still getting over) because it' s bothering the baby! Okay...let me just 'stop' coughing.....unbelieveable....

Jenny, your hubby sounds like mine!!! Every time I poked my belly, he had a fit!! And forget when the baby had the hiccups in utero!! He screamed at me to DO SOMETHING!!! As if I could!!

I think its really cute...
maybe since they don't have 'control' over the pregnancy like women do?
a friend of mine came out to a bar with us while pg (another debate...but there was no smoking) and her DH was so cute standing guarding her making sure no one could bump into her...

Re: Worrisome hubbies
My husband seems to be getting more 'Italian' as well... he gets so upset when I rub my stomach. He's always saying, 'Leave her alone, she's trying to grow.'
I guess I'll see if I can skip out of here early. I just feel stange going in and talking to my boss about being worried about driving in the snow... I lived in Vermont for 3 years and absolutley LOVED driving in that snow, now I come here and I should be petrified!?
I am glad that he gets worried because it really shows me how much he cares... like when the doctor found a 'potential' problem and he just left work and ran home to see me. But it just gets so difficult when I try to just be me...
I miss riding on the subway. I can only take the subway if he's with me... doesn't matter if I'm with one of my girlfriends... that's not good enough, it has to be him.

Re: Worrisome hubbies
Well, it turns out I didn't have to ask my boss if I could leave early... he came over to me and asked it I wanted to leave at 1:30 since the roads were getting bad! I called my husband to let him know, and he was releaved! Guess he won after all!

now just be careful! you dont' want to get bumped from behindor anyting. just stay in the right lane and go slow! there are a lot of nutty SUV drivers who think they are snowplows out there!

Re: Worrisome hubbies
On top of everything that everyone has mentioned, my Italian husband still doesn't think that I eat enough for the baby!!
Best of luck to all of you in the storm!! For once, Buffalo looks like it is going to escape the storm. But, don't worry, we get snow from October to May!

DH just called to tell me I need to leave work too. Problem is I don't want to get home before him this way he can have the driveway all cleared!
He has woken me up in the middle of the night with this face 'You are on your back!!!!!!! ROLL OVER!!!!!'
He means well!

Funny hubby stories !!!!
Mine is a worrywart too, but I like your stories better Stop coughing? (jenny)? Do something? (deb?) Love em. too funny.
Me & John are total opposites in that I'd walk through a storm to get somewhere and if its even drizzling, he's the type to stay home (and will overdramatize the story). As soon as he hears these 'STORM WARNINGS' on the news, FORGET IT ! To me its like 'ahh, storm, yeah right!'

My husband has become quite worrisome too. It getting to the point where he completely annoys me sometimes.
I don't complain because I know he wants the best for me and butterball.

Re: Worrisome hubbies
Take it from me women do not control the pregnancy either. We may be able to control the food the baby eats, and some of the other factors such as not taking chances with our physical bodies but other than that it is all up to baby and nature.

Re: Worrisome hubbies
please i have no control over this at all . proven in the past 10 minutes by a tuna sandwich, celery with peanut butter and a hot chocolate with marshmallows -a pack of smarties and six white gummy bears.
