Worst Engagement Present you got?

I'm dying to know if anyone got anything worse than what came in the mail yesterday.

What was yours?

I don't even remember who gave this to us, but we received 2 picture frames that looked like they came from the dollar store or odd lots - they could have been pretty- they wre glass with flowers and little rhine stoney things, but the glass was literally chipped off the corner, and the backing of the frame was pasted on with sticky tape, and totally tilted - it looks awful!!!

also, not to be petty, but my stepsister who is Wat. of Hon. and is cheap as heck bought me a 40 dollar clock....

i didnt get it...but my friends got....GET THIS....


A pack of DISPOSABLE NAPKINS...YES!!! Paper napkins!!! they were purple...AND from her DH's brother!!!!! AND....he didnt wrap them!!!!!!

Gift card to Tower Records...I didn't realize we were celebrating my Sweet Sixteen!

We got all cash except for 2 gifts - a knife block that we registered for and an ice cream machine. So we didn't get any bad gifts (cash is always good - and welcome)

I don't think it could be worse then a gift we received ar our e-party....drum roll please.

We got a nicely wraped gift and when we opened it there was a nice tube of Jergins hand cream in there!!!!!! I was like oh you have got to be kidding, I would rather no gift.

We really loved everything we got.

There were just some people who were cheap.

Background, my great uncle asked my grandmother (his sister) what my FH and I could 'really use' last week.

A package came with no card or anything that identifies who gave it to us but we have to assume it's from my great uncle because the Macys was from the same city in Florida.

It was a ugly 'tea server' set - Macys brand. The pattern is beyond hideous and I'll never need a tea server set when I've got china..but the best part is that there's a big CLEARANCE - 19.99 sticker on the side that I guess no one could remove before it was mailed. I would have been happier with a $20 check.

The lotion and napkins blows mine away though.

Oh I'm serious, this is no joke. I sent them a thank You saying thanks so much for the hand cream, we just really love it Some people have no clue!

oy- such an ugly bowl from mikasa from one of FFIL's friends...
we went to the outlets in riverhead yesterday and exchanged it for something we liked.

Ditto for me - since I had no official 'engagement party', I got an engagement gift only from my mother and my father. From three brothers and a sister, and the rest of BP, we got a 'congratulations'... which is fine, but I hope they remember when the wedding comes that I had no engagement party, no bachelorette party, and probably no shower, all expenses which I incurred when they got married and I was in their BP's (two times for one brother). But I think I'd rather get nothing than hand cream and have to write a thank you note for it!

I have to say we got everything we wanted plus big $$$$! we got one thing that we have no idea what it is! some sort of grill for vegies now we can't get rid of it bc fh cousin got it for us and he comes to visit all the time! so i take it out of storage when he is coming to town!
