Re: WORST EPISODE EVER...sopranos
I thought last night's episode was horrible. The only good part was when Phil finally got shot (although it stunk that it happened in front of his wife and grandchildren).

This was posted on myspace, I did like the episode, howver I'm still in the need for closure! OK, at first I was really angry. I mean really, really angry. I can't believe though that no-one has posted by now what happened. The only thing I saw that was right, was that in the last scene we are seeing through Tony's eyes. Remember when he was speaking with Bobby...basically saying that you don't see it happening?
So here is what I found out. The guy at the bar is also credited as Nikki Leotardo. The same actor played him in the first part of season 6 during a brief sit down concerning the future of Vito. That wasn't that long ago. Apparently, he is the nephew of Phil. Phil's brother Nikki Senior was killed in 1976 in a car accident. Absolutely Genius!!!! David Chase is truly rewarding the true fans who pay attention to detail.
So the point would have been that life continues and we may never know the end of the Sopranos. But if you pay attention to the history, you will find that all the answers lie in the characters in the restaurant. The trucker was the brother of the guy who was robbed by Christopher in Season 2. Remember the DVD players? The trucker had to identify the body. The boy scouts were in the train store when bobby got shot last week and the black guys at the end were the ones who tried to kill Tony and only clipped him in the ear (was that season 2 or 3?). Car jack episode
Absolutely incredible!!!! There were three people in the restaurant who had reason to kill Tony and then it just ends. This was Chase's way of proving that he will not escape his past. It will not go on forever despite that he would like it to 'don't stop'. Not the fans!!! Tony would like it to keep going but just as we have to say goodbye, so does he. No more Tony and I guess we are supposed to be happy that Meadow didn't get clipped as well (she would have been between the shooter and Tony) since she is the only one worth a crap in that family.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! Someone on here is getting it, yay!!!! :) This show was so much more then a MOB show, and I think some people understand that, some don't. But I know for sure David Chase would be happy people see it for what it is :)

I just got this email...what do you think?
ok listen guys...u gotta wach the end of the episode again and wach closely...here is wat ul c...when tony walks into the diner he looks at himself sitting down at the table...u can be sure of this b/c he is wearing different clothes when he sits down...i dont no *** that means...in previous seasons it had been told to us that tony's dad died just as his daughter (janus) walked in...if u wach closely u will see janus walk in shortly after tony sits down...this is used to signify the possibility of that happening again...then u will c the sports store owner who tony destroyed walk in wearing a brown kinda hunting jacket...he is the guy that a couple seasons ago got into gambling trouble with tony and tony took over his store...HE IS THE 1 WHO WACKS TONY...he comes in and sits down hunched over...hiding his eyes as not wanting to be noticed...and alas...'u probly dont even here it when it happens rite?' (this is bobby talking to tony in the 1st episode of the season...tony had this flashback as he was laying down in the last episode...there would be no reason to have had that in unless it had some huge significance)...and finally...tonys daughter walking in to c her dad get shot just as janus did so many years ago...u hear the bell of her walking in and then blackness...nuthing...it signifies the neverending cycle of the soprano family...aj will become tony...meadow will become janus...carmela will become livia (tonys mom)...and cycle of violence goes on and on and on....absolutlely amazing...i HATED the ending at first...but when i wached it again...and understood it...it is really the most amazing ending possible for the show...we really would not have been satisfied with the boring u c tony get shot ending...this was priceless...remember..this was not an action show...it was a drama about a FAMILY....
I really appreciate you copy and pasting for them!! Now maybe they can look at the show for more then what they thought it was :)

LOL like THAT wasnt condescending!!
no i dont want to be spoonfed! and guess what even with THAT ending people are STILL being spoonfed - they are picking up a couple of popular theories WITH NO BASIS IN FACT and saying 'oh ok, whew!, now i get it. . . thank goodness . . . .' meanwhile its just a theory - like i can makeup my own right now. . .
meadow was going into the diner to shoot everyone and that was why she was so nervous and took so long to park
lol there is my theory - lets see how long it takes to become THE theory that explains everything

LMAO no worries i wasnt offended or anything!!! dont mind me - all of these theories are seriously ANNOYING me
i just want one little particle of proof - i just cant help it - i just need someone to show me that the same actor played some of these parts - bc then it would be and AWESOME ending!
as for the guy everyone is claiming is the nephew - it was his only role ever in the sopranos and he actually owns a pizzeria. . .
i love when people have good theories -that is why my favorite show is LOST - but these theories that keep going around today. . . first of all, they are all based on one or two theories so they arent original and second of all, no one has provided a detailed explanation that makes sense!
ok i am overreacting - why do i care so much LOL LOL LOL

ok totally true i AM one of those people
i think every single movie should end with one of those montages where they show what happens to all the characters with subtitles underneath like:
Meadow got married and is now practicing law.
AJ is a succesful movie producer
Carmela is a succesful real estate whatever

Re: WORST EPISODE EVER...sopranos
I just had an hour conversation with someone theorizing about what happened. It was hilarious.
I love that kind of thing!!! I love when I sit there coming up with my own ending! Its like one of those 'choose your own adventure' books!
I see both sides. My friend was soooooooooooo pissed about the ending. He needed closure. He wanted to know what happened to every character. I totally get that. I remember watching the 'Wonder Years' and 'Who's the Boss?' as a kid and crying at the series finale. I loved finding out what happened to Kevin and Winnie and Tony and Angela. It made me happy!
But I'm also content with making my own ending.
However you feel, you're completely entitled to feel that way - cheated or excited about drawing your own conclusions.
I don't get why every topic on these boards that has some kind of opposing opinion needs to get into a 'that was condescending' kind of argument.
It was a show! It's over! Who cares! Be happy, be sad, draw your own conclusions, or vow never to see the movie! It's ok!
But I'll tell you this much - conversations like this are EXACTLY what David Chase (the writer) was hoping would happen! Despite how you feel, the controversy and ensuing conversation was exactly what the writers wanted to happen as a result of the show's end.

Waiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit a second. I'm not ready to start an 'us vs. them' kind of thing here. No applause needed for my comment. This isn't a 'jets vs. sharks' kind of thing, and I didn't mean to insinuate one with my comment.
I'm just saying that I love when everyone talks about the show to this extent. Regardless of how anyone feels, I'm glad it sparked so much emotion from everyone! That's really cool.
No one is 'right' or 'wrong' about their interpretations, and no one can be judged by how they feel about the ending of the show. If you want to take it at face value and get mad, go right ahead. You totally have the right to do so. If you want to revel in thinking about what could have happened after it ended - awesome! But no one should sit here and judge one another for their opinions or viewpoints.
It's over...and no matter how much anyone wants to argue about the ending it really doesn't matter. I'm just glad that people got fired up enough to talk about it to this extent.
Thumbs up to us.

ok since i always over explain myself - just wanted to point out that my 'that was condescending' comment was supposed to be facetious - like i didnt really think Laura was being condescending - i just meant to tease her about her 'spoonfed' comment
i know what you are talking about Bonnie - its just a show - i for one, know that i am overreacting bc i do feel like it was the 'proverbial' slap in the face ending - like 'we as the writers can drag you on for eight years and then give you NOTHING - well just because we can.'
but its a TV show - i need to get over it

Re: WORST EPISODE EVER...sopranos
sorry but the whole theory about the guy in the diner being phil's nephew is wrong, I checked the credits and that is not his name and that guy was never on the sopranos before. Doesn't mean it wasn't meant to be someone else who was after him.
AGAIN I'll say it in this thread again, I don't mind the ending, infact I do like things like this that have all these hidden meanings. I mean listen if we saw Tony get shot or he lives but they got into more details about what happens then the next day it would be either OMG can't believe Tony is dead or oh that is cool how things ended and not much conversation. Now everyone is analyzing everything about the sopranos, going back from the beginning and looking further into these characters and the show.
Also, there was WAAAY too much build up for this show, no matter what I think he knew that there wasn't anything he can do to make it good enough for the audience or at least not something to satisfy everybody. It's like I said yesterday, in a scary movie most of the time its scarier when we actually don't see it, rather than some weird looking demon coming out that looks ridiculous which completely will just kill the movie and your fear. The unknown is sometimes much more intriguing.
He decided to take a different approach to be a bit more creative and make it more symbolic at the end. But like i said, i would have loved to see some all out mob war before the ending.
Now out of all the theories the one I am most curious about and would make most sense is if janis walked into a place and saw her dad get murdered when she was younger, then that would make sense as to why it ended right when meadow walked in.
And am I the only one who was reminded of the godfather when the guy walked into the bathroom?
Fh said it reminded him of goodfellas when the trucker walks into the place
