I love the advice that a mother told her daughter she should wear her gold-colored high school prom dress b/c it was not worth it to buy another dress she would only wear once.

That was hysterical i've had some bad advice of my own. FH's Aunt told us that since our wedding was in the winter to only see vendors that were close to the RH. So in the beginning I ruled out all the really good ones only because they were too far. Now i just choose the ones I want and ask them what they do when it snows.

that was great. and that bride who told the BM not to wear her engagement ring on the wedding day. i'd have slapped her upside the head.

my favorite is the crazy bride who made her friend take of the ring to avoid upstaging her

Re: Worst Wedding Advice Ever

my dad told me that i should rent my wedding dress---cause why should i pay for something that i'm only going to wear once?

mind you--this is from the SAME MAN who refused to RENT A TUX because he didn't like the idea of wearing something that others had worn---and so he bought a tux instead.

can you see the uber hypocrisy as to WHY i found this to be terrible wedding advice?

Bad Advice:
'I was recently a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding. I'm also engaged and was amazed when she told me I couldn't wear my engagement ring during her wedding because it was larger than hers...ridiculous!' —Scarlet, Longview, TX

Re: Worst Wedding Advice Ever

funny...

worst advice I ever heard (so far) was telling brides to wait 6 months before your wedding to book vendors because you'll save $$$... I'm sorry, but I can't tell you how much stress I DON'T have by getting everything out of the way...
