Worth it to switch to a Saturday night????

Original post by GR2010

As far as vendors go I think the only issue would be I would get a different MC and wouldn't be able to use the stretch Infiniti I wanted....

Buuuuuuut we're talking about a $13k price difference. If we can swing it, is it worth it or is time of day not that big a deal??? I hate that people keep telling me that people won't dress as nice for a Saturday afternoon wedding because it's not as 'formal' but I don't want people showing up in casual attire... I'm not so worried about my friends and family but more so FH's people bc they're all OOTers.... I've always had a vision of a more formal wedding and now I'm starting to worry...

Or should I save the $13k and put 'Attire will be formal' somewhere on the invitation?

I would def put some sort of dress code on the invite - 'formal attire' should take care of it as everyone above said!

Then, upgrade your HM and have a blast!

i agree with everyone else ... it's not like people will show up in jeans lol

keep your afternoon wedding and save the extra money. it's not worth it.

I had a sunday afternoon wedding. Some people got as dressed up as a sat. night wedding, some came more casual. The day of your wedding you wont be careing about what other people are wearing!

If it were me I would save the money and put formal attire on the invite. Plus if someone shows up in jeans or flip flops then they will look like the fool.

people arent going to show up in 'casul attire' but i wont lie, i get 'less dressy'. i still wear a dress but i wont wear a fancy fancy dress. like i wont wear a long dress to the floor. i always wear something short and fun..maybe more cocktail dress style.
i dont think you should switch now just because its a hassel and a lot of money.
day weddings are just as fun. my only issue if you would even call it that is its usually good to do something after, even if its renting a bar at he hotel or something because people will be drunk by 6pm and have nothing to do after so its either you go home and go to sleep or you keep drinking lol

to be honest.. I think that the time of day doesnt matter.. its the type of people and crowd that are invited to your wedding that makes a difference.. I have been to a lot of weddings.. sunday night, saturday day, and friday night.. the only diffference was the type of people that were at these parties.. if your a fun crowd your goin to have a good time no matter what. i wouldnt worry about the day or night thing.. I would however worry about the extra money it would cost to change.. thats a lot of money!!!! don;t change a thing!!!
