I am breaking my clean eating (aka diet) and no drinking clause that i have been abiding too that day. Even if i go to the gtg this friday i can't eat anything bad or have more then one drink and that one drink is a splurge for a entire week so i may not do even that. OH I AM GOING TO STUFF MY FAT FACE and drink DRINK!!!!! then hopefully win a tv and make fh happy.

On the BHB board the forum admin recommends you dress like any other wedding you would go to. So fh is in nice black suite pants, button down dress shirt, tie, dress shoes. Me its a toss if i can fit in my new lace cocktail dress (i pray i can fit in now) or a black cocktail dress and nice shoes. I have seen in the past people wearing nice work clothes though and i think that will pass.

The money collected goes toward the prizes. And in addition LIWeddings kicks in thousands of dollars towards additional prizes. All the vendors donate their time and services. So, you would not be paying anyone if you were able to attend!![]()

I thought you paid to go to TWOTY because you get to see the vendors in action, unlike when you meet with them at their office. I feel that vendor should do giveaways to attract possible business.
and to answer the previous poster, I never been to a tasting where I had to pay, so paying to attend a showcase will seem as if I was paying the vendors to take my business. Just my opinion.
But it's really cool to win stuff. Good Job for providing prizes LIW.
I understand what you are saying but this is not a showcase so you are not paying to see the vendors in action. Nor is it a tasting. This is a full sit down and way over the top dinner with no expense spared. It's a GTG that is also a full wedding. It's an opportunity to meet the people you have been communicating with on the site and because it's an entire wedding theme you get to see vendors in action as well as have an opportunity to win prizes that they have donated and we have supplied. All-in-all it's a blast!!!!![]()
