(1) I didn't do favors at all? I just think it's such a waste of $$$
(2) Didn't have my ringbearers carry traditional pillows but instead just hold hands down the aisle. I think the pillows have a potential cheese factor, are a waste of $$ as you use them for 2 seconds, and honestly the boys are so little (3-4 years old) that I don't think they will carry them. (I have two ringbearers, my cute blond Godsons who are also my nephews and are cousins to each other)
What do you think?????????????

1. no its not bad- you can do something really cheap if you are worried- like candy. But most people throw away favors- especially if they are not edible or drinkable.
2. no, that is fine if that is what you want. If you decide otherwise, you can always have a family member that sews make you one so it doesnt cost as much money.

I've been to a few weddings that didn't give favors. You certainly don't need them. IMO, if you're going to buy a favor that has no significant use and will end up in the garbage anyway it's better to save your $$$. As far as the ring bearer pillow, no one will even notice!

Re: Would it be bad if ..................
you dont have to do the RB pillow but i will say its fairly cheap...i think mine was $25 or $30 at the most. My RB is 2 1/2 and he walked down the aisle with the FG and they held hands but he also had the pillow in the other hand. Its up to you really. I gave the pillow to the mother to keep, FMIL told her she kept all the pillows that Dh and his brother used when they were kids and were RB's, its cute bc she still has them all in a box along with other things
Favors-i will agree with gabbie, even if its something small its good to give a little something.

as for the pillows it was a waste of money for me because my sil forgot the pillow for her son and my nephew had his pillow (they both were fighting over the pillow) last minute i ended up saying no one walks down with the pillow I knew they would have fought down the aisle instead they all walked down hand in hand it looked cute! i think the pic is in my album!!!

you can do what ever you want. I do personally think it is a waste for the ring bear pillow also. And favors most likley everyone will put them in a closet somewhere. Unless you get something that people will actually use.

How bout donating to a charity in leiu of favors at least then you are helping something rather then giving something people will just toss...that's what we did and tons of people approached me and loved the idea!
As for the pillow it's totally up to you. My ring Bearer had one but I doubt it would make much of a difference if he didn't.

out of curiosity, what would you use instead of the ring pillow to have them bring the rings down on?

I was just going to suggest this. Then just make a few cards for each table explaining the donation was made in leiu of favors.

That or put a few separate cards out, you dont have to make one her place setting. Just say what charity you donated too and maybe why you chose that one, whether it be to honor a loved one or just because thats what you and FH believe in. A bunch of girls on here have really great ideas and layouts.

I think it's your wedding do what you want.
I don't think many people would notice if you didn't have the ringbearer pillow, it mostly looks cute in pics.
Favors, I think you should have something.. I know when I go to a wedding people are always looking to see what the favor is. Not scavenger like.. but curious and excited.

Re: Would it be bad if ..................
It's your wedding, you should do exactly what you want!!! We didn't want favors either so we are also doing donations. We printed up our own scrolls for each place setting explaining our choice but I have seen pics of one poster or two cards (one at each end of the table) at each table also. Ring bearer pillows are not necesaary at all but if you decide to get them, Michael's, AC Moore and Party CIty have really inexpensive ones!!! (I got my FG basket at Party City for less than $7!)!
