Ok, I can't take anymore time off from work other than for the HM, so my options are maybe to go into work late one day, or.....since I'm taking the whole week off leading into the wedding (b/c I have OOT people staying in my house).....maybe I can just get it on Monday September 10th? is that crazy? Can I even do that? not sure if they mail you something, or if you walk out with what you need.

Any input ladies??

You can get it 5 days before the wedding. Make sure you have everything you need and that both of you are present. You don't have to wait for the license in the mail. You get it the same day.

I don't think it should be a problem -- we were in and out in about 30 minutes. just make sure you have all of the necessary items before you go!

It'll be legal to do it then, but make sure you have everything in order when you go to the office.

Check with the actual office you go to. I heard they each have different requirements for some reason. (although its a state license).

I think you are fine as long as you have everything you need and Im pretty sure you get it the same day.

if it makes you feel any better, we're getting ours 3 days before because that's the only time we'll both be in ny during the week! neither of us can take any time off, except for all of the time we're taking for the wedding/hm. it should be okay though, we're going to take every single piece of ID we have!

We got our last Wednesday. Because of the rain, the subway to Manhattan only goes to City hall so we figure, we mind as well get a marriage license.
If your getting it in Manhattan...its very quick and easy. Make sure you bring passport and $35 money order. You fill out the form, go to line and in 15 mins your done.

5 days before is fine. As long as you have everything you need with you when you go it won't be a problem.

We only got our about 8 days before the wedding. You MUST have it 24 hours before, so 5 days is fine.
