Would it be ok to...

Would it be ok to...

request all names of guests on the invite response card?
Like if I sent an invite to a family of 6 and they only responded for 4, how would I know which guests they were responding for?
I hope this doesnt sound like a stupid question.

Our response cards looked like this:

Please respond by June 5, 2009.

Name(s) ________________________________

___ Will attend

___ Will not attend

We did that to make it clear that we wanted the names of those attending on the RSVP card. Oh, and because DH hates the 'M______' thing and thinks it's dumb.

The M is what threw me...especially when an invite is meant for more then one person.

good question!! i would def ask if you want to know.. and i now will be doing the same LOL

on a side note:
ive seen many invitations write
We have reserved 2 seats for you

if that considered okay:?

we went with the:
M___________________________

i already know everyone's name that we are inviting so i don't see it as an issue.

we only invited a handful of people '& Guest' so if those people respond 2 i will just have their escort card say, '& Guest.'

When I invited a family, I didnt write the indivduals names. For example, I put Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Family - this way when they respond, it doesnt matter who they are taking as long as it how the amount of people.

I guess I'd prefer names bc I wouldnt be sitting them all together. Just for example I wouldnt want to seat teenagers with their parents. This way they would get there own escort card.
