Would it be tacky to have a Bridal Shower as a BBQ in a backyard and invite the boys too??
I don't want a traditional bridal shower. I want my FH to be there with me and I want it to be more of a party rather than a Sunday brunch with the ladies. Since my hunny and I are paying for the wedding, we want to save some money and are thinking about possibly having it at my sisters house in her backyard. What do you guys think?? Tacky or go for it??

Honestly i say go for it!! It'll probably be much more fun than the 'traditional' bridal shower!! Do what makes you guys happy and most importantly what you can afford!!!!!!It's your special time do it the way YOU want it and have fun!!!!!!

i think that would be awesome. i just had my sisters shower and it was really nice but i want something more casual. i think a BBQ would be awesome. i've never been to a jack and jill shower but i'm sure it is a blast. are there things to do while the girls do the girly stuff? i'm not sure if they would be as thrilled opening a kitchen aid as we will be but DEFINITELY do what you want. i love the idea. maybe i'll suggest that to my MOH !!!!

no not tacky at all.. we did it for my gf and it was a blast.. just dont expect your fh and his friends to sit and open presents and ooh and ahh LOL
the guys played beer pong while we did the ooing and ahhing thing.. then after we just parited.. ate great food and drank!

No... been to one like that and am also going to do mine like that.. its alot of fun.. plus my FH whines he wants to open presents too! I say go for it.

thats basically what i told my MOH that i would prefer rather than the cutsie games and girlieness i'd love it like a back yard BBQ and pool party with the men invited also not just the women. i say go for it

Thats the same issue I am having, I would want something funand casual with my bridal party spending the least amount possible

I dont' think it's tacky at all. You have to do what you and FH want and personalize all aspects. If the traditional shower is not for you why do it??? I say close your eyes and imagine it and if that's what you see go for it!!! Plus like you said you get the engagement party feel as well.
