You booked your wedding for 2009 and then a very close friends of yours announced they booked their wedding in the same location, same time of year for 2010?
We are clearly the 2010 couple, it's FHs friend. They don't know we are very close to booking. Maybe they will be flattered maybe pissed, I don't know! I did love this venue long before they ever even met and I had told FH I wanted to be married there 2 years ago!
Fh told me not to say anything to the bride until we know for sure.

Re: Would it bother you if...
To me, it really wouldn't bother me. I am getting married at the same hall 2 of my friends got married at simply because I love it there. While I may get a little upset if it was really really close in time, like the week after our wedding, how much time is there between the 2 events?
If you love the place, I would go ahead with your plans. My friends who got married at Fox Hollow are flattered that we loved teh site so much that we are having our wedding there. but I don't know your friends, some people want their place to be 'unique', but I dont think they will be upset if its at the same place around the same time.

You cant really get mad at someone over that so no.
Every wedding is different, even if its at a different location. There are different guests invited- different vendors- color scheme.
Even though the venue is the same people can still distinguish between two weddings- esp. if they are a year apart!

If she gets mad that is ridiculous. It is not like she is getting married the week before you. If that is where you want to have your wedding go for it!

I wouldn't get mad because even though its the same location, each person can make the place their own, by adding different elements to the event. If you love the place then you should choose that place, i wouldn't care if friends of mine were getting married at the same place before me.

Close friend said he'll be probably getting married at same RH approx 2 months before me after I had booked and everything. I didn't get mad, was a little eh about it but then figured it will give me a chance to see how things work. Also see it as a compliment.

I think it would be dumb if they got mad, they obviously pciked it because it is an amazing venue and they had to think others would see it as amazing too. So what if it is friends of theirs. I don't see it as a big deal. People have their receptions at the same placeall the time

Re: Would it bother you if...
This situation actually happened with us. I fell in love with the place that FH's best friend was getting married at this year. He asked him if it would bother them if we booked there for 2010 and he didn't care at all. Our wedding would be long after their's and I have completely different ideas of the details anyway. Honestly, even if he did have a problem with it, I would have booked my wedding there anyway bc of how I felt about the place, it was THE one. It was not something to get mad at.

I booked my 2010 wedding at a place my friend booked her 2009 wedding at. i asked her 1000 times if she minded...she finally admitted to me how flattered her and her fh were that i booked completely based on her recomendation since I've never been to a wedding there and its in Jersey...she was so excited!

Re: Would it bother you if...
if it was right before mine i would have been a little disappointed since none of my friends or family had ever been to a wedding at NRC.... but if the bride booked a wedding after mine, I'd be thrilled!
I'd love to go to another wedding at NRC!!!!

Re: Would it bother you if...
I personally think that if you love the place you should go for it because it's your wedding ...if you were to choose another RH just because you might feel guilty is not worth it...because at the end you might not be satisfied with your wedding. Plus your wedding is going to be different...They shouldn't get mad at this.

Re: Would it bother you if...
It's a year apart and people get married at the same places all the time, so I think it's fair game. My older sister is getting married after me and has already expressed that she may want to use the same RH as me. I think as long as you go with different color schemes and vendors, it will create a balance and keep things from looking cookie-cutter.

It wouldn't bother me at all, perhaps if it was like, a week later or something, but a year is a very long time to have a gap. If anything they should be flattered that you obviously think they have good taste in halls!

Re: Would it bother you if...
i wouldnt be mad...if i had my wedding there first lol FH had wanted to go to jericho terrace but his good friends got married there so he said we couldnt. but that was just his feelings..he wanted something of his own...he didnt want to give people the opportunity to compare our weddings. i know that may sound stupid but 2 of his friends got married at the cresthollow and from teh moment all of us step foot in the place we were comparing the 2 weddings.even the couple that had it there first were comparing it. we decided to go with our own place so that wouldnt be an option for people to do

Re: Would it bother you if...
I think it depends on the relationship between the two people. Like if my best friend did it, I might be a little mad, but if a fourth cousin did it, I wouldn't care.

I don't think I'd be bothered by it. I think it's flattering cause it means you enjoyed their wedding so much at the place that you want yours there as well. Just don't pick the same date a year later.
Long as you don't pick the same bridal party colors I think you'll be good to go.

Re: Would it bother you if...
if its the place that you love then go for it.
everyone has their own style so it will be unique to your & FH's tastes. its not like its going to be the same people at both weddings.
