Would this bother you (RP from LIF)

So this morning, I get a call from my landlord (Who lives upstairs) telling me that shes coming into my apartment to let the Verizon guy re-wire something for the internet connection. Okay.. Whatever. (Thank GOD my apt isn't too messy!) What bothers me is the fact that she tells me this AS SHE IS WALKING INTO MY APARTMENT and to top it all off, she has to get into my closet which is BEHIND my 42inch flat screen tv and the stand, and all the wiring that goes with it. So, not only are there people in my apartment when Im not home, all my furnature is being moved. This is bothering me.. alot.

Yet another reason why I cant wait to buy my own house. I hate HATE HATE knowing that people are walking into my apartment when Im not home. Uughhh!!

But seriously.. Am I over reacting?

I would be annoyed because you didn't have notice. What if your apartment was messy? What if you weren't there and you had left something valuable out and it was taken? I would expect at least 24 hours notice. RUDE!

I would just say that I would need as much advance notice as possible in the future. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

I hate to have our maintenance guys in our apartment when I'm not there either. Thank goodness DH is home in the morning which is when we usually ask them to come. But I get nervous when they're there in the afternoon, I don't want to come home and find anything missing!!

That's really rude tho, she should at least give you 24 hours notice so that you/Anthony can move the furniture for something like that.

You are not alone! The maintenance people in my apartment building are in and out of my apt all the time! Sometimes they don't even call, they come right in !
I hate being a renter!!!!
If you live in a two family type house, you should definitely tell your landlord you require a little notice!!!!!!

It's totally inconsiderate, but might not be out of line according to law. My lease had some pretty strong language about it, 'any time, any reason' kind of thing. I think landlords like that because they can make sure you're not damaging the place.

But if your landlord is reasonable, maybe asking her nicely would work. My landlord is a lying jerk so I know it would never work. Good thing he lost his keys to the house.
