would u be hurt?

would u be hurt?

each time I make dinner or anything at all FH makes a face or down right refuses to it, or just takes a bite and then says he isn't hungry.

I haven't been cooking anything forever but decided to make spaghetti tonight b/c he was working late. Lo and behold he says immediately that he had something at work already and he is really not hungry (as I serve it to the table mind u).

I cook well, the stuff that I know how to make, and the spaghetti was really good. I don't get it. Why does he act this way??? Doesn't he get it that it totally hurts my feelings??? If I was full I would totally eat it the food, to be nice and appreciative. And not only WOULD, but DID numerous times.

I am so insulted! This is the last time EVER I make anything.

So my Q is: wouldn't you be insulted if you were me?

you need to let FH know how you are feeling...
before you stop cooking ever talk it out with him and see what the real issue...express to him how hurt you are by his actions...maybe his oblivious to his behavior.

that wasn't very nice. I would be hurt too. I am sure if you let him know how it made you feel, he'd think twice about his actions next time!!!

yeah u have a right to be insulted- but have you asked him why he didnt want to eat? what about if you plan ahead and tell him you're cooking dinner so he doestn fill up before?. i dont know where your bf is from but in my culture you eat when food is put in front of you. period.

im sure there's a good reason behind it, tell him it hurts your feelings. he probably doesnt realize!

i definitely would be insulted... if it was something that was happening every time you made it.... have you said anything to him about it.?

I told him. We even had an argument about it yesterday (after I made an omlette, throught which he was yelling at me what to put in it and what not to put). Then today I was about to say that its very strange that YET AGAIN he doesn't eat my cooking, and he said 'Don't start with me!!! I told you I am not hungry!'

I am fuming right now!!!

Regy I'm SO sorry. You have every right to be hurt and if he complains I wouldn't make anything anymore.

That's kinda mean of him. I would let him know how you're feeling before you give up on cooking...

I should have read the entire thread before posting... maybe there are certain foods he doesn't like... but he should really not be yelling at you... a simple 'please don't put X in my omlette' would be just fine.

that makes me angry...but don't fight about it. Definitely don't stress yourself either. Before you start cooking, check with him next time to see if he wants to eat, and what he wants to eat. If nothing, cook enough for yourself. If it were me, I would come right out and ask if he has a problem with my cooking.

Thanks guys!
Talking to him isn't solving the problem, he acts as if I am just paranoid. Whatever. He wants to be in charge of the cooking and kitchen - so be it

Just was trying to do something nice for him.

Let me tell you, FH tries his absolute hardest to get on my nerves or be unnecessarily mean at times but you know what? I started to ignore him. It works. Focus on your wedding planning so that you can enjoy it. Don't sweat the small stuff! FH will get bored and move on to something else to upset your nerves.
When FH acts up, I look at him and go on LIW. All the typing drives him nuts!!

gotta love passive agrasiveness!

I would be really hurt. If it were me, I'd honestly not cook for him anymore. He'll eventually start asking why you aren't cooking and you can tell him b/c he doesn't eat it. Yeah it'll start a argument but at least you will get your point 100% across.

Thanks Adriana. But he prob won't even notice as he cooks ALL the time. He will prob think 'business as usual'. So I can't even make him suffer

He'll suffer alright! When you ignore him and talk to us

I would tell him that he is hurting your feelings. Also, if I was you I would explain to him that if he is going to act this way, you are not going to cook for him again.

I agree. I would definitly be hurt also. If you are thinking enough to make him something, hungry or not he should **** it up and eat it since you were nice enough to make something. I bet once you stop making him something to eat, he will realize fast how good he has it. Good luck!!

I definitely think you need to sit down with him one day, and talk to him calmly about it. Just because he is the 'cook' in the family doesn't mean he has to do it all the time.

Personally, I'd rather he openly admit if he didn't like my food than just lie. It can't be possible that he's NEVER hungry.

For my house, there is one rule. You have to TRY everything. I don't cook things that I know FH won't like (i.e. meatloaf). But if it's something I think he'll like, he MUST TRY it. If he doesn't like it, we order pizza or something, lol. We've done well with that rule, and he's completely honest with me when he doesn't like something I make. Maybe try that????

I would definitely be insulted...and I would DEFINITELY be having a little talk with him too. And until he apologizes and communicates, I would be holding out on him But thats just me
