Would you...

Would you...

...choose how you will die, but it would mean you would die 10 years earlier than originally intended, would you?

Sorry so morbid, I was thinking about it over the weekend.

I think it would depend on my quality of life for those last 10 years. If I was able to travel, move around, enjoy life, I would want to live longer, but I saw my great-grandmother die at 96 after spending 10 years in a nursing home and she was miserable there. I know she would have rather died earlier, without having had that experience to end with.

Nah ... I mean, you hear people who 'die peacefully in their sleep' but who knows for sure!!! How would you know if you made the right choice?

I just wouldn't want to drown or suffocate...I think that's what really scares me. I wouldn't do it if I was intended to die at say 40 or so, but what's the difference between 80 and 90 anyway if I can just drift off when I'm asleep?

Actually when you drown or suffocate your brain shuts down and you start to hallucinate before you actually die so your not really conscience for it.

I just don't want to be in pain.

To answer the question I would not know and take the last 10 years.

i agree with what you said!

(on a side note, friends aunt died recently from drowning in her hot tub- her teenage son found her the next morning (yesterday) so sad...I would never ever want to die that way

Maybe seeing grandchildren/great grandchildren be born?
I don't know, my grandmother is 87 and works part time & is vital, so there's no way of knowing what any time in your life will bring you.
