Would You Attend? Please take this POLL!

Original post by Claud2001

Just looking for some advice/opinions...about 3 weeks ago, one of my new neighbors stopped me on the street as I was taking Paul for a stroll. She wanted to tell me that she was hosting a 'Home Interiors' party, and would like to know if I'd like to attend.

She referenced the rest of the women on my block, and I got the sense that everyone else had already been given their invites, and replied. So, I politely thanked her for thinking of me, and she promised to bring the invite to my house later that day or the next.

Fast forward to today...she rings my doorbell at 3:30 or so, with invite in hand, apologizing up and down that she didn't bring the invite by sooner, and the party is tomorrow.

So my question is...if this were you, would you still attend? Mind you...I don't know ANY of my neighbors...only introduced myself to some of them once, and others I JUST met on Halloween, when we took Paul trick or treating.

I think it's entirely up to whether or not you want a relationship with any of these women or not.. If you really don't care, then don't go.. but hey, why not?

Thanks everyone...I kinda wanted to go b/c I know some of the women on the block have small children, and I thought it would be nice to meet them. However, DH *may* be going out tonight w/the guys to see The Matrix, which means that I won't be able to go anyway!

I'd go too. forget that she was rude and meet the others.

I would go. And if your DH is going out and you tell this woman, she may tell you to bring your son.

Go make friends with your neighbors. Twenty years from now you may look back and remember this as the beginning of some wonderful friendships--for you AND your son.
