My stepsister (who just got engaged in December) and is getting married in October, but just found out that she is 6 weeks pregnant and is due the week of my wedding. She was a BM and I am not sad that she is pregnant, I am so happy for her, but I know that she will not be at my wedding. I have a very sad feeling inside, and I don't want her to think that I am upset that she is pregnant and it's taking away from my wedding, I just want her to be there... I feel bad though because I know my stepfather will want to be with her and my stepbrothers probably would want to be there with her too. I feel like a bad stepsister because I am sad when I should be happier.
I was ABSOLUTELY THRILLED until I used teh calculator to get the due date.

I am going up to see her tomorrow. I am 3 days older than her...we have celebrated all our major life events practically together. I can't imagine what she is feeling or going through. I am going to give her a big hug tomorrow!

I am a little confused. I don't understand why they will not be at the wedding? I know that she is pregnant but does she live far and doesn't want to travel?

Don't worry, unless she has the baby within a day or two of your wedding, she will probably be able to make it to your big day. Talk to her about how you feel, b/c your sadness will show through and she may take it wrong. Just let her know that if she's not there she'll be missed

Our stepsister was pregnant and was due the week of ALIASPOOK's wedding and she lives about 2 hours away so we were sad because we thought she would not be able to be a bridemaid and attend the wedding if she had the baby.

We found out that she had a MOLAR PREGNANCY which is when the baby does not form and the placenta forms like a tumor and gives off the signs and symptoms and pregnancy and needs to be removed immediately because it puts you at risk for a rare form of cancer . She had to have emergency surgery to have it removed. She has to wait at least a year before she can try for another baby. Please prayer for her..she has to get tested every week to make sure there are no signs of the cancer. We hope she can have a baby in the future!

Dawnie, I found this article about Molar pregancy (I had only heard of this once before, and hearing about it again intrigued me, so I looked for some info). It's very very optimistic, I thought you guys would want to read it. While it's frustrating and very scarey, it is very hopeful with the right attention, and the outlook very positive:

Thanks..I have been reading up on it too. I got that free pregnancy book from State Farm and was reading up about it just the other day..so strange. I just want to make sure I don't say anything stupid tomorrow to make her feel worse....

Thank you everyone! I spoke to her bfore, she is still very tired and week, and she is holding her breath until the results come back from the biopsy on Monday. Dawn will see her tomorrow and hopefully she will be feeling a little better... I would go up tomorrow, but Brian is going on stirike with Verizon and he is all depressed and stuff, so I am going to be with him...
