A former co-worker of mine was invited to my wedding along with a few other former employees from my old company. They all attended but the night of my wedding I found out the one co-worker who I was the closest with was unable to attend being she was not feeling well.
I'm not the type to look for a gift but I didn't even get a phone call....nothing.
Would you be upset?

Also, I ended up paying for her and her husband plate and didn't get an apology, not even a congratulations

Re: Would you be mad?
Yes...I'd be very upset and even angry. I wouldn't expect a gift but IN THE LEAST - an apology or explanation.

I would be upset too. And like Chris said, I wouldn't be looking for a gift, but definitely an explanation - at least!

Re: Would you be mad?
I would be a little upset too....I had a very good friend from childhood not show because she ended up in the hospital. Of course I wasn't upset that she didn't come, but she didn't call or send an email and 2 weeks later she sent me a ridiculous email forward......ummm.....hello? Wanna tell me what happened to you first?
Then no card or gift.....but I did get a Christmas card.....just keep it stored in the roll-o-dex in your head.....

Re: Would you be mad?
According to my co-workers she had heart palputations and was ordered by her doctor to stay home (which I can completely understand) BUT I do at least deserve a phone call and none of my former co-workers said anything about it so I am assuming they see nothing wrong with what she did. That's why I wanted to ask you girls because I thought I was overreacting.

I did learn one thing from my wedding...
I learned who my true friends are throughout all my wedding planning.

Re: Would you be mad?
I would be pissed. Even though it was last minute - they could have called...although I'm sure you would have still been mad. But still, it's a courtesy. I called my friend a week before her wedding and told her I couldn't be there - but it was up in Rochester and FH had to work - and I was not about to trek up there alone. But I did send a gift!

Re: Would you be mad?
I'd be slightly annoyed, but your wedding was only a month ago and holiday time can be hectic for people. I'd hold out hope that a card is on it's way. I had my own Aunt and Uncle pull a no-show and I never heard from them either. Annoying, but my thinking is that they are not worth the energy I'd use being pissed about it.

Re: Would you be mad?
we had a few no-shows some with explainations who sent a card with a freind and some who we havent' heard from
the best one was one of Jake's friends who we DID not orginally invite- called Jake about 3 weeks before the wedding saying I can't believe you didn't invite me yada yada yada
so Jake invites- he doesn't show- at least he didn't say he was bringing a date- but with what I paid a person- I was angry
