Would you be mad?

Original post by SPITSBRIDE

A former co-worker of mine was invited to my wedding along with a few other former employees from my old company. They all attended but the night of my wedding I found out the one co-worker who I was the closest with was unable to attend being she was not feeling well.

I'm not the type to look for a gift but I didn't even get a phone call....nothing.

Would you be upset?

I had someone who didn't make it to my eparty. No call, no nothing... I found out later he completely forgot, his girlfriend of three yrs broke up with him and he was just in a dazz for weeks. People have their reasons.

good point...you never really know what is going on in people's lives, but I wouldn't be able to stop myself from being pissed too....

I'd be pissed, and not afraid to call and vent my feelings as nice as I could!!

Ditto, but I don't know how nice I'd be. No excuse for this.

I was annoyed at people who said they would be at my e-party, never showed up - and never heard from them again - and I didn't have to pay pp for them to be there - so yeah, I would be annoyed...

Uh...yeah!!!!! I had one of those...he sent a gift, but I'm still pissed that he didn't call or even mention it in the card. It's just soooo rude to do that.

I understand how you feel also. One of my co-workers didn't show up to my shower. Everyone else came and she had RSVP'ed to my sister YES and then just didn't show. No one ever heard from her and then she was back in work Monday and din't say anyything to anyone of why she didn't come. When i finally went back to work (i had been on vacation that week) she never even apologized or said congrats or sorry or anything. My mom had paid for her too, and i thought it was rude not to show up...So my answer to you is YES...i would be mad...(I hold grudges also )

i agree.

i have a guest plus one who conveniently did not show up. i had no idea what hap'd. i was upset but i kinda brushed it off cuz she's ahem.. flaky like that. after finally calling me for the first time since my wed her lame excuse was she had to do some paperwork on her car. the car was fine but paperwork is 'important' and must be done that same night. waht a dumb biotch!

since your friend was sick i guess it's okie but nonetheless, she should've sent you something to compensate for her absence. she's alread married so she should realize the politics behind a wedding. that's just rude and such a faux pas. so's telling her of your feelings. but don't take my word for it. hahah cuz i told my friend off!

I understand that perhaps she could not avoid missing the wedding, but she could have least called or sent a card.
