If FH was going to a bachelor party and spending $300---that he DOES NOT have...on a strip club (which you hate), dinner, and alcohol (which he will not be drinking)?

They are paying for bottles at the club and they are buying more before they even get to the club...its like a whole package the guy whos party it is made...he is asking for money from everyone up front like a few weeks before the party...I am not mad at FH I feel bad for him cuz I know he would love to go but he doesnt have the money right now...I am mad at the situation I guess?

the money part would bother me. I dont understand spending that much money on something like that. If he went out and spent money on something he would have the next day i would be more likely to understand.

It bothers me that the guy is asking his friends for money for the party he's planning... if your FH was planning the party and knew all along that'd be one thing, but I would never ask or tell my bridal party to give me $300 towards anything.

ok i look at this 2 ways.
1. Your FH is in the BP and unfortunetly with that comes expenses and since he accepted and its his friend your FH feels obligated to participate. He doesnt want to feel embarrassed. I know its a hard time for you saving for a wedding, paying bills, not working, but, by asking your own BP you they too will be having expenses because they accepted.
2. I do agree with you, i think it would be the type of celebration that would bother me and the 'excessive' cost. And I dont mean Strip club.. that doesnt bother me that much. I know that a lot of people want to have a fun bachelor/ette party, but people have to realize that these weekends and trips or special events are costly and your BP members will most likely feel obligated to go. I think its best that when people are planning these to try to plan something fun but something that doesnt have to cost a lot of $. Like going to a bar or club. SOmeone who doesnt have the money can just choose not to spend a lot on drinks.

well when your weddings come around his friends will have to lay out $$ too. look at it that way! i know money is prob tight right now but i think it would be rude of he didnt go. Does he HAVE to spend 300?? maybe he can spend a little less or is that what everyone is chipping in for the night?

yeah in order to get a table at a club you have to buy bottles. Its either 2 bottle minimum or some places like Marquee are 4 bottle minimum and bottles are $300 each. It can get pricey
You can't really get mad at his friends or the situation. I mean think about when you get married, there will most likely be some ppl who will be broke at the moment but they can't get mad at you bc your wedding is during a time they are broke.

I would be upset about the $, but I know my FH is too cheap to spend $300 on anything, let alone strippers or a night out for that matter.

I'm going to Hunk-O-Mania again! Didn't spend too much money last time, they gave a free ticket for the bride.
to me, it wouldn't be about the strip club, although i can understand why some girls would be annoyed...but it would be more about the fact that it's money he should not be spending.

You know what, if he's in the wedding party I'd say suck it up; I'm sure there will be guys (and girls!!) who will be shelling out money for your respective parties that they really cant spare at that moment.

yeah id be mad.. i'm sorry if things are tight at home we dont have $300 to drop on someone else's party.. especially someone's else's party where hes not having any fun.. shucks he may not like lap dances and strip clubs but he better get an extra drink thrown in!! a tshirt.. a keychain.. Something!
