Ok, so I already ordered the BM dresses and they came in last week. Now, I regret my decision and I wish I had gone with pink dresses.
The pink dresses I want are ALOT cheaper, so it would be easy to get them. Plus, I know all my bridesmaid love the dress because it was one of the choices in the beginning.
I need your opinions...Would you be mad if you were in a wedding and the bride wanted to switch your dress, even if she was willing to pay for the new one plus buy your shoes?
Let me know what you think!

i guess not if you were paying for the new dress, but it would be slightly annoying that i paid for a dress that i am not going to use anymore...

If you were paying....absolutely not. I'd tease you for not choosing it in the first place. It's your day, and as a bridesmaid I would know that.

my initial reaction is that no i would not be mad BUT cacarina made a good point. Whats going to happen to the dresses they paid for, can they get a refund. Bc then although you are paying for the dress, they still paid money for a dress that now they might not be able to wear.

I am trying to sell the other dresses! HAHA
Keep your fingers crossed!
Here is the ebay link if anyone is interested in them. They are Alvina Valenta gowns.
How should I explain this to my bridesmaids!? I am afraid they will think I'm psycho!

Well as long as the bride was willing to pay for the new dresses than I wouldn't mind. Your bms could always try to sell their other gowns.

I think that I would only mind if I didn't get any money back for the dress that I bought and would never wear....
Your gesture of paying for the other gown and shoes is extremely generous!! Talk to them and let them decide what they think is best....unfortunately, all of us are different and take things differently from other people.....
I hope you can sell those dresses! They are beautiful

I am sure that your girls will understand that you jsut really like the other ones better and you are doing everything you can to accommodate them so that they will not be put out at all!
I think they will be fine!!! They may even end up in a better position for it all!

Well the thing is, if there is a huge difference in price like you said, then they might have paid $250+ for a dress (as you wrote on the ebay listing) and now if you want to have them wear a $100 dress, I'd be pissed that I had wasted $100-150 pretty much since you could have gone with the $100 dress to begin with. I think rather than pay for the new dress, you should refund them the difference between the two dresses. Otherwise I really don't think it's fair to the girls, IMO. I'm a bridesmaid in two weddings before my own and it's hard to come up with the money for all these things, I'm sure you can understand. Asking them to get a $250 dress is one thing, but then buying them a cheaper dress and asking them to wear that isn't really making it right, I don't think, unless the costs even out. If you pay the difference, then you're able to sell the dresses, you might break even for yourself.

hmmmmmmmm i dont think i would be mad as long as you're paying for the new dress- BUT i just looked at your ebay listing and that is ALOT of $$$$$$ for that dress- so i'm just wondering is the new dress near that price???? just cause ...say if the first dress was $500 and i paid that and then you changed your mind and picked a $100 dress and even though you're still paying for it- i'd be pissed that the first dress was so much money and i ddnt even get to wear it. Good Luck

i agree, esp if the new dress is so much cheaper. they could have spent that much less on it to begin with.

I'd be a little ticked off that I paid for a dress that I won't wear, but I guess it's moot because I would have had to buy a dress either way, right? The only downfall is that if the second dress had been chosen initially, I would have paid a lot less money it seems.

I would be a bit upset because of the time and money spent on the original dresses. Especially if I wasn't able to wear it at all. But, I think that your offer to pay for the new dress plus shoes will help soften the decision. If you are really sure, then I would go with the pink dresses. Just be really really sweet and apologetic when you tell your BMs....
