Would you be mad if this happened to you???

So my shower is happening today at noon (it stopped being a surprise a loooooong time ago). Anyhoo, my sister just told me that 2 of my girlfriends just called her and left her a voicemail that they are not coming to the shower because of an 'emergency'. Mind you these are the same 2 friends that didnt RSVP, my sister had to call them to see if they were coming and they were like 'oh yeah, count us in'. We dont really speak anymore and the 2 of them are opening some kind of shop together. Would you be upset that they waited until an hour before your shower to tell you that they weren't coming???? Now my Mom is upset because she paid for 2 extra people. I feel like they never planned on coming and just realized that today was the shower and are now making an excuse. Why is this so stressful????

I understand that your pissed, and in all likelihood I would be as well. However, so many other LIW brides have had these kind of things happen to them, and they have all reported back after their shower that the love they felt from those who did attend was overwhelming and that the day was special even with people missing, so based on that I would focus my attention on the positive, and not waste my time caring about people who don't.

Not for nothing but, if you don't really speak to these two anymore and they didn't seem to be too interested in the shower in the first place, why would you want them there anyway? Your shower is supposed to be fun and spent with those who care about you, not people looking for a free lunch!

Be happy for those who ARE attending - you know they WANT to be there!
