Would you be mad?...VENT

You poor thing ... reading this makes me really mad for you! The nerve of someone to ask for friends to be invited, then say that she'll keep the gifts! What is wrong w/people? I hope that I will never treat the woman my son will marry so badly ... you are the woman he LOVES ... you have shown her respect ... she doesn't show the same?! UNREAL!

Would you consider limiting the # of guests that she can invite? Say, we can only afford to offer you 50 invites. This way, it stays within a reasonable number ... I feel your pain on that one ... we're paying for everything ourselves and believe me ... then these guests come and give you practically nothing as a gift. It's not like you know them, either, you'll never see them again? If she doesn't want to, then tell her you've got your own friends that you'll be more than happy to ask to come!

I agree that you should contact Flowerfield & tell them your sit. They'll be more than happy to help you out if you alert them to the probl.

FMIL alert. You need to sit her down and set down guidelines. Explain it to her 100 times if you have to. MY FMIL gave me a 2hr story on who we had to invite and why and I told she would have to pay for the add'tl people up front she they had to be invited. Needless to say, FMIL has never mentioned it again.

You can tell her how you feel, is your FH on your side. If yes then he should explain it to her.
