Ok, so I just found out I am pregnant last week. I'm in my friends wedding in July, which means I'll be about 6 months pregnant. She knows that we were trying and is totally ok with the fact that I may have been pregnant for her wedding. But here's the problem.... all of the BM are wearing the same dress. Although the dress is very pretty, there's no way I'm going to be confortable and look like anything short of a sausage in it. It's strapless, tight and fishtails at the bottom. I am going to ask her if she would mind if I order a maternity dress in the same color. Now, the maternity dresses are chiffon and the BM dresses are satin, so they may be a little off. Would you be ok with your friend being a little different and huge and pregnant?

ooh I LOVE the second maternity dress! I think it would look great! And I would be totally happy to have a pregnant BM.

I spoke to my friend and she's totally cool with me ordering the maternity dress. I'm going to order the second one (the brown one) since it's most similar to the BM dresses.

I have a prego BM and am totally fine w/her wearing whatever she is most comfortable in. We're not sure if she'll be at the wedding (her due date is 2 days before the wedding).
She can walk down the aisle in whatever she pleases. All that matters is if she can make it!

Did the other BMs order their dresses already? If not, can your friend find a different dress that has a really similar maternity dress?
I didn't get to do much shopping for BM dresses because my SIL was pg and I wanted my BMs to be in similar dresses. I limited my search to only those brands that have coordinating maternity dresses. I went with Aria in the end and the dresses looked great!

Yes, I'd be perfectly ok with a pregnant BM wearing a different dress, of course!! I'd want her to be comfortable!!

My sister and the Bride's sister were both pregnant when she got married a couple of years ago and they were both in fitted dresses and looked beautiful bump and all..

hi-first congratulations on your pregnancy!!!!
my 5 mos. pregnant bm is wearing the same dress as the others, but they are ordering side panels and putting it in her dress
im going to be honest- a different dress is fine in the same material and color, but im not wild about chiffon if the other dresses are satin
i think it would stand out even more know what i mean?
different dress- fine- different material- i dont think id be happy
however if that was my only choice as the bride- id let you get what you want
but you asked for opinions so just being honest

I have been to wedding with pregnant BM that wore a different dress, and thought nothing of it. The BM dress your friend picked is pretty but def not suitable for pregnant woman. esp strapless, eventaully your belly is bigger than your boobs, so you need strap to holdup the dress Def ask her now.
